One owner, one driver, classic Mercedes.Used as a driver by my wife for 32 years. She does not allow food or smoke and it has been garaged unless it is driven.
European model VIN number WDB1232201A140291
She has wiped the car a couple times a week with damp cloth and interior is in near new condition.People just stare when they look inside, really.
To understand this car, first start with this is one of the last classic MB ever made.It has been sold around the world and taxis still drive this in many countries and have put unbelievable miles on their cars.Next my wife is typical German, by the book, super clean environment and if you can believe it - never has had a ticket! She hates driving in snow and ice, so almost never driven in salt. In other words - pampered.
This model is a W123 series model 200.It has a 2 liter gas engine and is a European model. It was brought from Germany by my father, brought up to US standards and wife has driven it ever since. We lived in CA for most of the car's years, now in Virginia.
This car still drives like new and the inside photos speak for themselves about how well it has been taken car of.
Since this is a driver car and not a museum car, you would expect some wear and tear, repairs, etc with 242,000 miles.
I have maintained this car (oil changes, routine maintenance), and a professional German mechanic has done any significant work.Even though this is a European model, parts are easy to get through MB USA since this is almost the same engine the MB 190 used in the 80's.The body is w123 which is also very easy to get parts.
Some facts:
So if you are looking for a very reliable, classic car that has been well maintained, this deserves your review. It is not perfect, but as clean as you will ever find.
Why are we selling such a great car?We have grandkids now - no airbags. So for their safety and we do not have space in our garage to keep a weekend car, so we have reluctantly decided to sell.
Honestly, this car just goes.I enjoy being able to work on a car and this is one of the last great European models where you can turn a wrench yourself.
I have several workbooks that goes along with the car.
I am sad to say goodbye, but happy for the new owner - she has been a gem!
