Mercedes 280C
1973 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 280 Coupe Description
1973 Mercedes 280C CoupeSilver Exterior– Black InteriorHere is a beautiful example of a stunning Mercedes gasoline Coupe, in classy color combination.I am the third owner, purchased this car from the previous owner in the Bay Area who owned it 12 years.Over $15K invested by the previous owner.Prior to the Northwest, always a California car, so good body condition.I have done some additional work, carb overhaul, new battery, misc. cosmetics, and brand new tires from Discount Tire, less than 100 miles on new tires.I have significant receipts for mechanicals and interior work. The car has a reserve well below what I have in it, but I have 4 cars and other projects and I am not driving this much, so liquidating the fleet.
Interior was re-done and in amazing condition. No rips or tears in any of the seats and no wrinkled door panels, new quality carpets and trunk carpet. It is hard to find an interior this clean for this age of car.Over the years, I have owned over 10 different Mercedes, including 300D’s, TD’s, 240D, and Coupes. This is one of the classiest body lines and color combos, with great power for spirited driving. It was in great condition and I did some minor work and major detail and basic upgrades.
It comes with upgraded stereo, Alpine with component speakers.Nice quality upgrade. All windows, regulators, and sunroof in good working order. It has AC, cruise control and even the clock works.Nice wood dash, blower motor works in all speeds.
Specs include the following:6-Cylinder, dual carb engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, 4-wheel disc brakes, 4-wheel independent suspension, optional power sunroof, A/C and heat automatic climate control, power windows, power steering, cruise control, updated stereo, 3-way adjustable front seats, front and rear center folding arm rest, front center cargo tray, zebrano wood dash trim, full spare and tool kit.
Overall, this car is in great working condition, starts up and drives phenomenal at highway speeds, no weird shimmies, new tires, battery, and brakes in good condition. It needs to be driven more versus sitting.Other than that, the car is in good working order. With that said, this is a 40 plus year old car.The paint job is not original, it was repainted by the previous owner, some minor orange peel and imperfections but beautiful car.I get comments every time I drive this car, more than any other model I have owned.
Please remember, it is a 40 year old car and there is always something to tinker with on an old car. I have a very realistic Reserve several thousand less than what I have into it. You will not lose money and depreciation and ride in style. Clean Title. Please have funds and financing in place before bidding. You are responsible for shipping. I usually use U Ship. Thanks and happy Motoring! On Oct-19-16 at 19:58:40 PDT, seller added the following information:As an update, I have had some questions regarding discussing the car. I have responded via e-mail through e-bay but I am getting a lot of return undeliverable messages. So, feel free to contact me at 253-592-8469 with questions. If I don't pick up I will return as soon as possible. Thanks!
