Mercedes Benz 190 1959 3 owner daily driver California car
1959 Mercedes-Benz 190-Series Sedan Description
1959 Mercedes 190b Sedan Very Good Condition 1959 Mercedes 190 Sedan 3 owner California car now located in the southwest New Mexico. It has enjoyed pride of ownership for the last 25 years which is as far back as maintenance recordsshow. Odometer shows 15000 miles so it has turned over.
Originally a maroon color it was repainted professionally 18 years ago in an ivory white. At the same time the engine was rebuilt- both the block and the head, new radiator, rear differential, generator, rear brakes, brake hoses, carburetor rebuild, new upholstery along with interior door panels, headliner, carpet, and new tires. Receipts go to the next buyer. Some of this work is older than other but the car has been driven very little since undergoing all these updates and improvements.
I am selling this Mercedes ponton for an enthusiast who drove her car on occasionbut relied more on her Toyota Land Cruiser for regular transportation while her 'baby' was parked proudly on site. So it became a Sunday driver. It is actually a worthy daily driver, and she has been garaged or car-ported or recently car covered. It has also like most nearly 60 year old cars been slightly neglected, so there are signs of roof paint breakdown, some rust in the wheel wells, and numerous minor flaws in the finish, chrome, etc.
There's an a/c blower but no compressor, upgraded stereo and -yes door speakers-, a key/ignition issue which the owner had resolved and a bit modded from original but the steering still locks for security. Cardboard heater boxes need to be installed, some minor rust in the wheel wells starting to show up. Trunk and doors lock with key. Front and rear bumpers as well as the floors are in very good condition as the pics will show. I was unable to detect any rust in the usual places like the trunk spare tire well or floor pans.
All old classics have stories which they cant recite and we can only wonder how these great old cars made it into the 21st Century.
The car has excellent compression with only 4,000 miles on a rebuild. It actually keeps up in traffic! It shifts excellent, stops on a dime, idles fine, and gets tons of looks wherever this little Ponton goes. People are always asking about it and we are glad for the Mercedes star which gives away immediatelywhat it is a late 50's Classic from Germany. One on the hood and one on the rear deck lid.
4 matching correct Hancook tires and a new off brand spare come on this rare Mercedes. .Clean title, with a bill of sale along with work orders and history of maintenance to buyer.Shipping to be arranged and paid by the buyer with the utmost cooperation on our end with a 7 day maximum turnaround between sale and pick up.
