1984 Mercedes-Benz 300-Series Description

Up for sale is my 1984 MBZ 300D Turbo with Frybrid vegetable oil fuel conversion kit installed. I bought it at 114,xxx miles and have been the owner since. This car has been a reliable daily driver since I purchased it in 2009. The windows have recently been tinted and I have all of the service records dating back to the purchase. The mechanic I bought it from informed me that the car spent most of its life originally in Texas and most recently New Mexico. The car has no rust. The new owner will receive 50 gallons of centrifuged vegetable oil in 4.5 gallon cubes at no cost as well as an extra diesel pre-filter and two vegetable oil filters. My primary mechanic who also sold me the car and maintained prior to my purchase is Mickey Hollingshead at Jim's Fine Car, 5110 Headingly Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
Since I have owned the car, I have replaced or installed:
-new battery with 2 year pro-rated warranty as of 11/9/16
-I installed a new Frybrid vegetable oil conversion kit in 2009
-dash cover
-motor mounts
-muffler hangers
-windshield washer pump/check valves
-brakes in 2013
-starter in 2009
-upper control arms and bushings
-guide rods
-rear coil springs
-front and rear heavy duty Bilstein shock absorbers
-valve cover gasket
-fuel primer pump
-vacuum system components/gas pod flap
-upper and lower oil cooler hoses
-front crank seal
-belts
-radiator hoses/new radiator
-thermostat
-steering damper
-air cleaner rubber mount
-all new fuel injectors
-the rear two window arms stopped working so I installed hand cranks for the two rear windows
-new ignition and key tumblers
-a $400 CD stereo which uses flash drive or iPhone/iPod to play music, Bluetooth hands free calling
-tires have approx 70% tread
-new wheel bearings
-window tint
All in all, I have invested over $13,950 in the car since I bought it in 2009.
Known issues:
-fading paint
-cruise control unreliable
-the fuel guage sensor is going out and is sometimes unreliable under half a tank
-the sunroof is sticky and unreliable
-glove box lock is tricky to operate and does not lock with key
-small tear in driver seat - see picture
-headliner does not like to stay around light on rear passenger ceiling
-rear defrost does not work
-dash has small cracks
-AC does not currently work nor has it ever since I've owned it. From what my mechanic told me, the issue with the AC system stems from potentially torn rubber diaphragms in the vacuum operated pods. That particular issue is repairable.
-the SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil) system had been working fine up until I stopped using the car this past January. The system may need a clean out.
The car runs great on diesel and the driver is able to select the fuel from the drivers seat. The three fuel selector valves/controlled loop purge system were replaced in August 2015. The car starts better in freezing weather when block heater plugged in.
I have all of the service records dating back to when I purchased the car in 2009. More photos are available upon request. Questions will be answered as quickly as I can get to them.
Thank you for your interest.
