This ML presents in outstanding condition throughout, much finer than the mileage might imply. It has been very well-maintained from new and is a fantastic opportunity for a very nicely optioned, high-performance luxury AMG SUV at a fraction of the original sticker price.
The ML63 burbles about town or eases down the freeway in the traditional Mercedes mindless manner. And then... Even with two-and-a-half tons of SUV to lug around, the ML63's acceleration is on the insane side of brisk. Zero to 60 takes just 4.8 seconds of your time. Mated to a silky-smooth ang lightning-quick 7-speed automatic trans and all-wheel-drive, the "6.3" engine is unstoppable, and all the more impressive because it achieves its strong low-rev characteristics without resorting to turbo add-ons. Passing and merging in traffic becomes ridiculously easy.
The ML63 AMG may have the engine of a sports car, but its interior is luxury all the way - a highly refined and extremely comfortable environment. Tremendous Multi-Contour seats are wrapped in finest leather. They can be adjusted in a multitude of directions and are heated and ventilated, making pleasant places to be during trips short or long. The extensive options roster of luxury features includes a DVD navigation system, back-up camera, Harmon/Kardon sound system with six-disc CD changer satellite radio, a glass sunroof, automatic climate control, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. There's plenty of room for four adults, and just enough for a family of five. Access to the spacious cargo bay is excellent. Visibility is also top notch. Talk about flying under the radar; "normal" cars can slip completely beneath your field of vision.
The ML63 AMG received a special grille, thick fender flares, tinted brake lights, and chunky front and rear bumpers. There are polished AMG 20-inch five-spoke wheels, stainless-steel running boards, and a sport exhaust with a quartet of chrome pipes to complete the aggressive look. Behind the handsome wheels, perceptive onlookers will notice AMG brake calipers and enormous brake rotors that deliver amazing stopping power. The AMG-tuned system smothers imperfections and/or stifles body roll, depending on whether or you push the Sport button or stay in the ML63's Comfort zone. Interestingly, while the ML 63 rides low on the road, the air suspension can give the 4*4 a lift at the touch of a button, adding a considerable amount of ground clearance. The brakes feature some of the largest drilled rotors we've ever seen, and stopping power is excellent.
