Mercedes CL500

I have owned this Mercedes CL500 for just about 10 years. IT IS NOT A CL55 (has AMG kit, but badging was on it when I bought it…as was the RENNtech logo on side….it does have the rear window air fin). The car has the AMG body package making it very pretty.

This has been an absolutely fantastic car. I have loved every moment of owning it….it remains (in my opinion) one of the most beautifully styled vehicles out there. It has always been garaged and kept up. And always viewed as classic, beautiful and surprising people when told it is 14 years old. I also feel the white on tan leather is the best combination in a sea of black and silver CLs.

The car has approx.. 164k miles (its less now, but I still drive it from time to time). I recently put a lot of money into the car including the following:

1.Fixed front end squeak replacing front control arms;

2.4 wheel alignment;

3.two new front tires;

4.new front brakes;

5.new ABC pressure hoses in engine compartment;

6.new ABC/power steering pump;

7.new crank sensor and one cam sensor;

8.new instrument cluster with reprogramming to show actual miles, etc.; and

9.new left rear ABC shock.

In short, if the car needed something, I had it fixed. Oil has been regularly changed with full synthetic. I do have open air filters on the engine, but will include the original plastic funnels for use with stock air filters.

The car has a few nicks in the paint…but very very few. Also, left rear wheel well has scuffs as an idiot changed lanes into the car on the freeway…scraping his plastic mostly on the wheel itself (see photo..otherwise very straight body). Also see crack on driver’s side window (twin glass laminate shows crack on inside panel, but works fine (see photo). Finally, small chip in windshield on passenger side, has been there for at least 7 years without growing or spidering. Also, steering wheel wood portions show play, but not breaking. Wheels are very nice, but do have some curb rash on some wheels.

I was going to keep this car forever…drives fantastic, comfortable and safe. It was the only car my ex ever loved to drive…or ride in without complaining about something. BUT…I got my new car, an SL, as shown in one photo and with the kids grown, I don’t need the rear seats or an extra car. Incidentally, this has a full size spare……really nice to have.

Interior is very nice. I plan to clean the mats and have a second set that could use cleaning, but go with the car. All gauges work as it was just replaced. Navigation system come with original disc, so you may want to buy new one. Has Aux port in glove compartment for connecting external music. CD changer in trunk, but I haven't used for years, don't have CD cassette and not sure how well it works. Also have wiring for Valentine One radar detector coming from rear view…. actual radar detection unit I will keep.

I do still drive the car at times. You are welcome to come take a look in the Los Angeles area (I am located just outside). Again, THIS IS NOT AN AMG despite the badging. I have three keys for the car (2 of the original credit card keyless type, with only one working; one original old non-keyless type; and one new key-keyless type which was never programmed for keyless operation).

As with any sophisticated older vehicle, it may have some issues, which I don’t know about, although my mechanic ran a scan and it is clean, but who knows, so I do not warranty the car. As noted, I am in the Los Angeles area and car can be picked up or I will cooperate as best I can with any shipping.

I have clean title to the car, no liens, or issues. I will release title and car, only after full payment. Deposit is expected via Paypal within 24 hours of auction close in the amount of $200. Contact to be made for pickup or shipping within 48 hours of auction close. No other payment via Paypal unless you want to pay their fees. Otherwise, remainder to be paid in cash on pickup or bank transfer prior to pickup.
