2004 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class N/A Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 with just 61k miles. I would rate the exterior of this SL500 to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking roadster. She is finished in classic Brilliant Silver over charcoal interior, which is a timelessly good color combination. The silver finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass all around. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific Merc, the worst I can say is that there is a little visible damage to the rear bumper cover / quarter panel on the left side. You'll probably have to look pretty hard to see it, but it is there. The body lines are nice and even. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The 18" staggered alloy wheels really make the car and give it an aggressive stance. They're wrapped in nice rubber with good tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this SL500 looks.
I would also rate the interior of this Mercedes to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. Being the flagship roadster of the Mercedes brand, the SL's have a graciously appointed interior. The door panels are clean and tight. There are integrated storage compartments in both front doors. The carpets are clean and show well throughout the interior. The dash is clean, too. The leather sport seats are clean, comfortable and very supportive. The only visible wear on the seat is a small puncture on the driver's seat cushion about 1" long (see photos). Both front seats are power operated with 3 memory settings and heated, too. The climate control system is fully automatic and offers independent temperature settings for the driver and passenger. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The audio system is original and sounds great through the factory BOSE speakers. There are steering wheel controls for both the audio system and the car's integrated onboard computer. All of the buttons and controls are present, working properly and not worn. The power retracting hard top lowers into the trunk with the push of a button. Behind the front seats is a parcel shelf for quick access to larger items you don't want up front with you. Under the parcel shelf are two storage compartments for smaller items you want to store out of sight or keep from blowing away. The panoramic roof option gives the cockpit an open feel, even with the hard top up. The trunk is spacious for a roadster and clean, too. A full set of books and manuals, as well as factory floor mats, are included.
Mechanically, this SL500 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 5.0L V8 engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are excellent. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The Active Body Control system is working properly...which means the car does not droop or sag when parked and there have been no warning messages. Steering and braking feel excellent. In fact, the brakes on this car are amazing. I own a Ferrari F355 and these brakes are better than the ones in my Ferrari. The big, cross-drilled disks up front stop this car effortlessly. The engine makes great power and feels strong. There have been no idiot lights or warning messages on during the time I've spent driving this car, which has been about 200 miles. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels very smooth. You can hear the ABC system hydraulic pump a little, which is normal for older cars with ABC. It's nothing that needs attention at this point, and probably won't for quite some time. It's just how they age. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts normally with no issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. This car is an absolute rocket that was made for the open road. At 80mph, the engine is turning a mere 2,000 rpm's thanks to the seven speed automatic transmission. The SL's aren't exactly rare cars, so you'll find plenty on the market in all ranges of mileage and condition to suit your taste and budget. What set's this one apart from the rest is that, like every car I sell, it is being sold to the highest bidder with NO RESERVE so now is your chance to snag one, if you 've been looking. This 2004 SL500 is a fresh NEW CAR TRADE and has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of June, 2017. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
