This is the first generation S class by Mercedes Benz. It is known as the 116 chassis. This particular car was owned by Mercedes Benz USA as an official launch promotion car, to introduce the 1979 S class to the US market in the US model year of 1979. The car is fitted with every available option, which includes rare charcoal grey/black velour seats, factory front and rear heated seats, rear headrests, reinforced seat springs, metallic paint, am/fm cassette. IT IS A USA specification car. I have every service record since 1979, All factory build and promotion sheets, All sales brochures, as well as the factory window switch. Every feature in the car works correctly. This car recently has been serviced at a factory trained technician. mechanically the car has a complete service, for the engine and transmission. New seals, gaskets, hoses, filters, fluids, etc have been updated. Heating and A/C system have been updated which includes new servo unit. The original tires were replaced (I kept the old ones) with correct Michelin brand tires. New brakes, rotors and pads with sensors installed. Complete tune up with plugs, wires, belts, fuses and proper hoses. Transmission fluid, filter, and screen replaced. All documented.
