2004 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Description

The recipe is often simple: take an already beautifully engineered Mercedes Benz vehicle, add a high horsepower engine and high performance braking and suspension. In this case they use the CL class platform, a personal luxury coupe with all of Mercedes' latest technology. This generation features active body control, and well as active suspension, and Bi-Xenon HID headlights. To turn this CL into an AMG rocket ship, they drop in a hand built 5.5 Liter Supercharged V8. This plant churns out a tire shredding 493 Horsepower and 516 lb ft of torque. AMG designed an interesting feature that only engages the supercharger under heavy acceleration or high RPMs. This allows the vehicle to tool around town quietly and then turn into an absolute animal when you step on the loud pedal. The hand built 5.5 Liter lump exhales through 2.75" dual exhaust which lets you know the horsepower you have at your disposal. This is a great example of a business man's muscle car. New this CL55 would've set you back $120,000. Now with only 84,200 miles, you can own this vehicle at a fraction of the cost, but with all the performance.
