1998 Mercedes-Benz E-Class AWD Description

Black 1998 E320 4Matic Wagon with 244,256 miles. Runs and drives and is daily driver for local errands. Rain water sometimes finds its way into the battery compartment area, it appears to be the cargo area side window that is allowing it in. Very slight top end tapping on cold start up but goes away once warmed up. The transmission recently started having delayed shifts, could simply be low fluid level, this model has no trans oil dipstick which is ridiculous but is a fact. There are no major leak, but even a small drip over 19 years can add up to a quart or two. I have not had the time to determine the true nature of the problem. The car needs an oil level sensor and new motor mounts, the mounts are oil filled and both lost the oil years ago. Also needs front shocks. The following parts were replaced during the last 24 months..........alternato, water pum, egr valv, fan clutc, spark plug, left and right front axle shaft, front drive shaf, 2 lower ball joint, brake pads and rotors, and two self leveling accumulators. There is some minor rust in a few areas and a small dent on the tailgate, plus some small dents on the doors and hood. The car has been very reliable but due to its ag, it is sold AS IS. Great for parts or repair.
