1959 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 4 Door Description

This classic1959 Mercedes-Benz 220 Ponton Sedan (Engine Prefix 180.924)was delivered and titled in Seattle, Washington and then moved to its second owner in Santa Barbara, California, where the car was lightly restored with a correct new interior and respray. Currently the car presents with a well aged, period-correct patina of distinction.
The car came to Texas in 2014, where it has been driven weekly and serviced regularly. Throughout its life, the car has been consistently driven, properly stored and correctly maintained. The car is a solid driver. My city has the worst traffic in the nation, and I am able to drive safely in all conditions. The car is a delight both to drive and to be seen driving. If you do not like attention, then do not bid on this car.
Save for the passenger-side mirror, the car is complete and correct with all original equipment, tools and spare. All glass, lenses, chrome, knobs and dials are original to this car and are in appropriate condition. As the car has been driven by its three owners, some minor paint loss, wear and occasional slight indentations exist, but do not distract from the overall striking presentation and incredible street-side impact of this wonderful motorcar. Just look at the pictures again...
All systems function as they should and the car is current on service. The tires are new. The twin carbs have been professionally rebuilt. The car starts reliably in various weather conditions and runs surprisingly strong and fast for a mid-century vehicle. This car is ready to roll and is a true pleasure to drive. Original manuals and keys are present.
The car is of course sold as-is, without any warranties or representations. You should have the car inspected (or to travel to beautiful Austin Texas to inspect it yourself). I will be happy to assist with inspection and transportation logistics. I am a perfectionist, and you can pick this car apart upon very close inspection. But believe me, at 10' the car is unbelievably killer. I am not a dealer. I am a collector and Mercedes-Benz lover, having owned in addition to this car: 1970 280SE, 1973 280 SE 4., 1979 450SEL 6.9; 1988 300E; 1995 430E. I have a perfect Ebay record since 1999, and you may buy with confidence. My mechanic for over 20 years has serviced this 220S and will answer any inquiries . It took me 5 years to find this car. If you have been looking for one of these, this is the one.
