1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class SPORT Description

The Mercedes CLK was the pinnacle of performance for Mercedes in the coupe class with this platform. With its short wheelbase, rear wheel drive platform and available V8 it is a fun and powerful vehicle to drive even by todays standards. Add in that this particular car has all the power options you could possibly pack into it including original equipment HID front lamps, AMG wheels, power rear sunshade, power sunroof, CD/MP3, PDL, PW, PTW and much more, this is definitely the one to own. With it's bright red exterior finish, you will have a Mercedes that turns heads for many more years to come. This car was purchased by my wife and I a little over year ago from a friend who only drives Mercedes and he barely drove it, posting only a couple thousand miles over the three years of his ownership and it has been the wifey's daily driver every since.When he informed me that he was selling it todown size, I quickly recognized the long term value of this vehicle.I am in the automotive collision repair business and have been for over 26 years and the car was impressive enough for even my critical eye to overlook some of it's cosmetic and minor short comings with an intent to cosmetically restore it for my wife. She had wanted one of these for many years (I'm not a Mercedes Man) but, I married a Mercedes Girl, so we bought it and added it to her collection of classic Benz's (She also has an 89 300 CE that we partially restored over a decade ago. It is a clean car for having over 150K on it so it's easy to see the previous owners didn't beat on it. When you lift the hood you very quickly see everything is alloriginal Mercedes, in tact and in very good condition. We have put some money into it for normal wear and tear items such as Oil changes, Coolant flush, replacement of worn steering gear, drag link, center link, fresh rubber and an alignment. It's not a perfect car, it's not a trailer queen, this is a drivers car, It does have the standard aging Mercedes characteristics, most obvious are the brittle plastics and a bit of wear on the drivers seat, and the all to obvious dried out exterior moldings. Additionally, it has had a few cosmetic refinish touch ups here and there that are not perfect but, not horrible either. A complete exterior refinish on this car and she would easily be an 8 or 9 of 10. As is almost always the case, changes in the landscape of life force us to part with her even in the face of my wife protest. We have attempted to disclose what we know of the vehicle and have been as honest as we can about our knowledge of the vehicle. We hope that she goes to another owner with the same intent we had. So people can continue to enjoy these types of vehicle s for many years to come. The vehicle is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time.
