1961 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Description

1962 220SE, Manual transmission in extremely original condition.
Last documented running was about 10 years ago, although when I purchased, it was claimed that it was started about 5 years ago. I have not attempted to start it....This is not a roundabout way of saying that the motor is blown: for me to be comfortable starting the car would mean a bunch of work including cleaning the gas tank, replacing lines, priming the oil system, etc. I have not done this. I have no reason to suspect that there is anything wrong with the motor.
The history on the car is not well documented with only a few clues. The car is solid with rust in rear quarters (I added the duct tape patch you can see in the photo), but floor is generally very good. The leather interior is in strikingly good condition without cracks or tears. I bought the car with the thought that I would switch the interior into another car of mine, but there's a diminishing chance I'll get to it, and I also think it's too nice a car to pick through. The car is carbureted with a four speed manual column shift transmission.
