1999 ML320 Runs excellent, won't shift out of second gear-No Reserve

I picked this up last October as a spare vehicle so I didn't have to drive my truck all the time. It runs excellent, everything works, interior good, tires in good shape. I charged the AC & put new wiper blades on it. It was smogged in September. I drove it a couple weeks and had no problems. Went into the store one day and when I came out it wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear. Sometimes the starter won't engage from the ignition switch so I have a remote switch hooked to it and that works fine. I have too many projects to spend any time trying to fix this. It is sold as is. Registration expired Dec 2016. Buyer is responsible for all fees and smog. Sold as a project or parts car. It will have to be towed as top speed is about 30mph. Cash only.
