I am selling my 1990 420sel in good condition inside and out. Approximately 118,000 miles. This car is my daily driver so mileage will increase somewhat.
Original engine was replaced about 18 months ago after timing chain slipped and bentthea couple ofvalves. The engine was replacedwith onefroman 420sel with similar mileage. At the timeof installation, the timing chain and guides looked fine but have not taken off the valve covers recently to check ifthe chain needs replacement.
Other items replaced within the last year include new water pump, starter, both front brake calipers, idle control valve. New wires, spark plugs, battery and O2 sensor within the last12months.
Runs well and the interior is in great shape for it's age. Rear bumper could use some touch up but overall the exterior is great for the age. No rust.
In the interest of full transparency, here the issues with the car:
The window regulators for both rear windows decided to snap recently so those need to be replaced. The motors are fine just the plastic regulators.
The engine recently developed a rattling noise which is likely valve lifters on the right bank. I have not taken the valve covers off to take a look. The car drives fine but the noise is very noticeable.
Antenna goes half way up but retracts without any issues.
Sunroof functions without any issues.
Overall rides smooth and the transmission shifts cleanly.
Heating and A/C work fine.
Tires have about 20K miles on them.
