2000 Mercedes-Benz S-Class -- Description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2000 Mercedes-Benz S430 with just 136k miles. I would rate the exterior of this S430 to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sedan. It is finished in traditional Brilliant Silver over Oyster leather. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this specific vehicle, there is spot of corrosion about the size of a quarter over the LF fender. Other than that, just an occasional mark or so here and there...nothing bad for an older vehicle. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the trim and cladding are present and show well. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The right low beam headlight is out...but this car has the halogen lights (not HID) so no worries of expensive ballast or ignitor repair. The factory alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with average tread all around. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would rate the interior of this S430 to be in BELOW AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. Throughout the interior, there are a few loose / missing pieces of trim. The carpets show a few marks from age but are not excessively worn. The dash and headliner are clean. The seats and arm rest show some visible wear from age, as seen in the photos. The power windows, locks, seats, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The audio system is original and works properly. The climate control system is fully automatic and appears to be working properly. It's a little early in the season to tell whether or not the air conditioner is working effectively but everything seems to be in order. Being an S-Class, rear seat room is more than adequate. The trunk is spacious and clean, too. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. Mechanically, this S430 appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 4.3L V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. The AirMatic appears to be working properly with no visible issues or error messages. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The check engine light is on. The code is P0410 (secondary air injection). This code will not present itself in the form of any driving issues. Secondary air injection is a little fan that blows hot air back into the intake to help the car warm up faster when you cold start it. Usually, the issue is just gunk built up in the tube from age. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with no issues. Out on the highway, she cruises easily and feels as smooth as silk. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
