I've had three 2009 SL63's and know and love the car. I'm selling this one because I have a 2018 AMG GT R on order right now. I scoured the country for a year to find this car. I purchased it from a Porsche Dealer in Chandler, AZ. They had taken it in on trade, put on new tires, wiper blades, and replaced the front lower black mesh grille. Car was then detailed and sold to me in November 2016. Back home in Utah, I noticed a faint whining sound which was a defective pulsation dampener. I recognized the noise having it go out on one of my previous SL63's. I took it to the authorized dealer in my town and it was covered under the extended warranty. After a few days, I noticed the low coolant light came on and thought nothing of it and topped it off. Few days later, it came on again andneeded topped off again. This time I took in to the dealer and no problem was found. Again, about a week later same thing. At that point I knew there was an issue and used Google and found out the problem. The 6.3-liter engine also known as the M156 by Mercedes has a fault. Many engines have and can be affected by head bolts that stretch (2007-2011) and cause a minor coolant leak because of a defective design. Google: "M156 head bolt problems" - to learn more.I was not aware of this nor had I heard of it before, because I never had this issue with my previous two SL63's. It's one of those things that can affect any car and not others for no specific reason. However, it is definitely a problem. I then took the car back to the dealer and they confirmed the issue and installed updated head bolts, head gaskets and all new hydraulic lifters, all replaced under warranty.During that time, they also discovered a defective driver front SAM control module, leaking ABC (active body control) strut, rear battery (failed load test), slight leak in a lower front radiator hose and the bottom heated seat cushion on the driver's side did not work. This was all to the tune of a 12k repair bill. Warranty covered it all except for the battery, lower hose and some consumables. Total cost to me was less than 1k. I have all the paperwork/receipts from Mercedes-Benz of St. George which is an authorized dealer that did all of the work.In addition to the almost four years left on the transferable warranty. Mercedes Benz backs up their work for two years and unlimited mileage. All work is done and has been paid for. I'm waiting for the bottom heated seat cushion element to come from Germany, as it's on back order. It was $1,100 and has already been paid for. I will include the paid for receipt and ship the part to you when I receive it from Mercedes-Benz.In the interest of full disclosure, the slight crack (pic included) in the lens element on the passenger side mirror. I have the factory replacement part which is included. I just haven't had it put on yet. There is also two slight dings on the aluminum AMG door sill on the passenger side (pic included). A couple small chips that are so minor and tiny you have to know and look for them. Paint is all original and the car has no dings or dents, no scrapes or curb rash on any wheels and a 100% clean car-fax. There are the usual minor scuffs on the underside of the front chin spoiler. Not visible unless you get on the ground and look up.This car looks brand new. With the updated head bolts, hydraulic lifters and all the other work that was done, along with almost four years left on the extended transferable warranty. It truly is a wonderful car. Taken care of by a true aficionado. I've always said the best looking and one of the rarest colors for this car is the Diamond White Metallic - it's absolutely gorgeous in person. No picture can or does this color justice. It's an amazing car and gets looks and hollers everywhere I go. Not knowing I was going to get a GT R until a couple months ago. I knew I would have to sell this car because I also have a C63 S and I don't need three cars. With that said, I would not sell this car without letting it go to the next owner in better shape than when I got it. Buy with confidence, as I've been an eBay member since 1999 and ALL of my feedback since day 1 is positive. Many years ago, I sold my Porsche 930 Turbo on eBay.
