2005 Mercedes G55 “76,000 miles, Lifted, Fully Serviced, Wonderful Condition!!
Vin WDCYR71E85X157201
The "Gelandewagen" was originally designed by Mercedes Benz to be the ultimate in off road vehicles. The G55 is the AMG version of the truck, it expands the parameters of the G Class from the ultimate off-road weapon to the ultimate in on-road SUV’s. In this quest, Mercedes has succeeded spectacularly! The G55 is powered by a supercharged 5.5 liter V8 paired to a 5-speed automatic transmission. The hand-built engine puts out 30% more power than the previous year’s naturally aspirated G55, giving stunning performance in propelling the 5,600 pound truck from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds. In 2005, only 300 G55s were offered in the US with the AMG package, and the original MSRP was just over $100k.
This 77,000 mile examples is slightly modified with Bilstein comfort shocks, ARB springs, Rotiform Offroad 18” wheels, Spare tire lockbox, Front Runner roof rack, rear ladder, Invision headrest mounted monitors for rear seat movie viewing and a Proclip iPhone holder. A California car until 2016, it has been maintained by BenzWorks in Huntington Beach, California during the seller’s ownership and the last service was two months ago at Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield, CT. The bright silver metallic paint is in excellent shape and presents well. The Modifications added by the seller include a new Front Runner roof rack and rear ladder, as well as a spare-tire locking unit.
Formally owned by the co-founder of Rotiform Wheels, a custom set of Rotiform were cast for this turck. The custom offroad 18” wheels wear 35×12.5×18 Toyo R/T tires, they give the truck a wider stance and have seen around 4k miles of use. The truck makes a strong off-road statement, while still maintaining a high level of on-road capability.Standard G55 options include leather interior, premium wood trim, rear parking assistance, a navigation system, rain-sensing wipers, dual zone climate control, heated power front seats with memory functions. Additionally, this truck has the cold weather package featuring heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. All mechanical systems work as they should. The interior remains stock other than the added iPhone holder; the black leather seats look well-preserved with tight stitching and light wear. All-season floor mats are fitted in the cabin and in the clean rear compartment. Minor marks are evident on the back of the rear seats from cargo.
The supercharged 5.5 liter V8 was good for 469 horsepower @ 6100 rpm and 516 lb. ft. of torque @ 2650 rpm when new. 2005 AMG models were special editions, utilizing an intercooler, screw-type supercharger, and an updated fuel injection system to create extra power. This G55 trucks feature a 4WD system with front and rear locking differentials and a locking center differential, as well as larger brakes than the standard G-Class. ARB springs and Bilstein comfort shocks were added; the original equipment is included in the sale. The clean Carfax displays some of the previous service history. The truck is up to date on all maintenance, including a transmission and oil service as well as replacement of the thermostat. Earlier work included a new fuel pump, fuel filter, and crankshaft position sensor. The Carfax is clean, with no history of accidents or damage, and body panels appear straight. This Mercedes G55 makes a strong off road statement while maintaining all of its autobahn cruising capabilities. Bid with confidence, as all this truck needs is an enthusiastic new owner.
