Uber rare W123 1985 Mercedes 230TE 5 spd manual “gasser” wagon, not a diesel !Take a good look at this wagon (also known as an “Estate”) because it is perhaps the only one in the Continental US and you will most likely never see one in person unless traveling overseas. This beautiful vintage Estate is in nice condition, way above average for an ’85.The engine is the original unmolested 2.3L gas motor with 5 speed manual, engine is rated at 134hp and good for 28 mpg highway, currently has 241k miles and runs flawlessly. This is the same motor found in the 190 series sedans therefore parts are readily available and mostly interchangeable between the two models.Paint is superb as is the interior of the car. There are no rips in any of the seating surfaces and headliner is in beautiful condition. It does have a custom molded plastic dash cap which perfectly matches the blue interior. All glass is intact. Being that it is a true European Grey market model, the following options were only available in Europe: cloth interior as opposed to the MBtex vinyl found in US bound wagons, smaller bumpers giving the car much cleaner lines compared to the giant DOT bumpers, dual frequency Alpine horn, manual sliding sunroof, "city lights" as well as built-in fog/driving lamps w/in factory headlights, and lastly a rear driver’s side fog light.Other options are power windows, air conditioning, vacuum central locking system, adjustable headlights, and self-leveling rear suspension, all in functional condition. The car has no issues whatsoever and can be driven anytime anywhere. It comes with some of the original dealer service stamps from Germany, and I will also include a complete original set of wheels with chrome MB star hubcaps, wheels do need refurbished but they are the correct wheels for this car, and car cover is also included. This is a beautiful example of a vintage Mercedes which would be a wonderful acquisition for any fanatic Benz collector. This is a unique opportunity to purchase and own a beautiful example of a 230TE Estate in North America.
