2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class CLK55 AMG Description

CLK 55 AMG Loaded with ALL Maintenance Records and Receipts
This is an incredible sample of the Mercedes-Benz CLK 55 AMG with naturally aspirated 5.5L V8motor producing a whopping 362 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, known asthe W209. It is my personal vehicle and it has been utterly amazing. Below are all the details of its history and condition in depth at the bottom of this ad. This way you can make the judgement call, whether you think this car is worth it. I personally paid top dollar for this particular car after getting it inspected by a mechanic who I dearly trust, as well as going through the complete service records and receipts for every single maintenance and repair dating back to 2006. This CLK also has push button start (i.e. autostart- a $1,065 option), proximity sensing lock/unlock, rain sensing wipers, heated seats, sport shifters. There has been no mechanical modifications of any sort, merely tasteful AMG badges added to the side fenders.
The car has been owned and maintained for the last 60k miles (since 2006) by two white collar professionals in the Washington, DC metro area - both myself, and the previous owner, a successful attorney. Before finding his car, I test drove 7 other CLK's in DC and NYC regions, and this was the cleanest and nicest AMG. Other cars had suspension issues, bad titles, shady sellers, or no records or receipts. I refused to buy a car without records, and this has worked out very well since the vehicle has performed flawlessly with zero no issues. COMES WITH ALL RECORDS, RECEIPTS, SERVICEHISTORY, MANUAL and 2 KEYS.

I drive carefully, like an old lady and hardly ever get on the gas. Pretty much baby it. If you know Mercedes, it has both a comfort mode and sport mode. However, only the AMG has Manual mode. This lets you select the gear so you can decide when to upshift, as well as stiffening the suspension for much improved handling. I do not often use this option, but I break into a huge grin whenever I do. The car hangs onto curves like glue, and can blast off from corners like a rocket with total control growling through 3rd gear. However, I leave it in comfort mode 99.9% of the time. The last owner told me he left it in sport mode most of the time. Personally, I prefer the ride quality in comfort mode as sport mode just delays upshifting, but gets worse gas mileage. The car is extremely low to the ground. My mechanic calls this the 'race car'.
Also, this AMG has been in the hands of an incredible Mercedes specialist mechanic in Alexandria, VA - Don Allen Auto Center on Eisenhower Ave. Don Jr. inspected this car for me on day one for the pre-puchase inspection and gave it two thumbs up. He has since done my scheduled maintenance services and any necessary repairs, which have been minimal. It's been completely problem free since I bought it in December 2013. The only work I've done have been the regular wear and tear issues - specifically motor mounts, transmission mounts and ball joints (due to the poor quality roads in DMV area, ugh). These were brought to my attention during the pre-purchase inspection, I was aware of the mounts before purchase and I had them replaced soon afterwards. This is necessary due to the shear weight and size of the V8 AMG 362 hp engine approximately every 40,000 miles and is a well known issue as discussed on the forums. I also put on 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires in March 2014 at 85,611 miles for $700. I drive this car regularly, but not alot. About 2-3x/week20 mile r/t and importantly it never sat. Mercedes like to be run regularly. I've been putting 8k miles on it a year. So, that is all the good.
Now I will describe the detailed condition including blemishes to you, and all known issues. (1) The driver's side heated seat does not work. Don has looked at this and it needs a new coil. This costs $1k. I decided to skip it. All Mercedes from this era (2003-2008) have the heated seated go out, you can look it up on the forums, most people don't bother with it. (2) Air conditioner stepper motor. This effects nothing, but is a $1k repair. It causes a very quiet knocking sound to come from behind the dash for the first minute after starting up that day, then disappears. The AC itself works fine and blows cold air. To fix the stepper motor requires taking the entire dash apart and Don Allen will charge $1k to fix this. Also, a well known issue for Mercedes Benz of this era. I skipped it. (3) the SRS light is on. This light has been on since I purchased the vehicle, which had a valid VA inspection. It has since passed DC inspection multiple times. Don said it's a $1k fix for the sensor, but since it doesn't affect anything, I've just left it. It has something to do with the passenger airbag sensor. Also, the CD player says its disconnected. Another frequent Mercedes problem, but can be easily fixed. That is all the issues with this car, and as you can see they are all minor electrical glitches. In terms ofappearanceand aesthetics, there is normal wear and tear for a 2003. I would overall rateappearance an 8/10 to be safe. See pictures for detailed shots of any scratches or marks. It was hard to find a model that had the driver's sear leather in great shape. I hate disgusting busted leather seats. This one has normal wear, but no white marks or any damage to the leather. I've always conditioned with specialty car leather cleaners from Magellans every few months, more over the summer. I bought new floor mats from the dealership a few years ago, but still have the originals too. The radio volume knob has some peeling. All other buttons are excellent. All trim looks excellent and interior is overall 9/10 overall. Exterior has some paint chips on hood and small screw holes on front bumper from where I relocated the license plate. I've been planning to fill those but never got it it. The mainappearanceissue is a small hairline crack on the top ofrear bumper under the trunk. However, luckily you can only notice it when standing on top of the bumper and looking straight down - the crack is invisible from behind. The wheels have some rash, which was all there when I bought the car. Nothing terrible, but just letting you know about ever single flaw. Also, a small scuff/dent on passenger side rear wheel well, which is not noticeable unless looking for it. This is an obvious flaw if you know it's there. The car tells you when it's is ready for an oil change and Service A is coming up (minor service, ~$250), which I will probably do before selling.
So, it's a great car! Why am I selling it? We had a baby last year, and now that she's growing up I want to take her everywhere with me. This car is not conducive to that goal. I cannot effectively put a car seat in the back of my CLK, so I will be buying a daddy car, i.e. 4 door sedan. Sigh...at least there is the E55!
