Mercedes 300GE Geländewagen. 1994 EUROPA Import G Class / G Wagen. G500 G63 G65
1994 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Description
Extremely rare G class being offered for sale by a collector. Model is a W463 300GE (Or G300).
----------
With the market being flooded right now by 25+ year old W460 imports - this truck really stands out. It was one of few federalized, legally importedGeländewagens which came into the USA via Europa in NewMexico. Imported Brand-new 9/15/1994 into the USA.
These trucks went through all of the extensive DOT testing and are somewhat akin to 110 NAS Defenders in that regard. Up until the G class was brought over as a Mercedes USA vehicle, the factory in Graz, Austria only produced 6-700 trucks per year for the world market. Most of these were for worldmilitariesand very, very few for this dealer in North America. Brand new this W463 truck waspurportedly $155,000 in 1994.
There is a Federalized US VIN # for this truck. It is not grey market, however, the eBaysystem is not populating the history. It is WDB46322817095867 .
----------
The truck has some special Europa-only options in addition to some custom features. A description of the various aspects of the truck are below.
The color is officially a "blue black metallic" which actuallylooks more like a grey black or, when its dirty, kind of matte black. A very rare color. There is really no blue whatsoever. Photos of this truck right next to a black metallic Europa G500 are available if you needed to compare / contrast the color. Very close butslightlydifferent.
The Interior is all leather, everything power, heated seats, and so forth. It is in excellent, excellent condition. No cracks in dash, no rips in leather, headliner is not sagging, carpet nice and clean, and trim is nice. Overall probably a 8.5/10.
Twocupholders on a hinged bracket have been added (something still missing on even the newest $250k USA G wagens!). A custom expedition storage net system has been added over rear passenger seat and cargo area. Full aftermarket stereo system with hidden amp, hidden sub, and all upgraded JLaudiospeakers (bluetooth ready).
Original factory OEM jump seat located passenger side rear. Can be switched to passenger side (pre drilled as once had two seats. Second was given to a friend). Has seat belts.
The Transmission is an automatic (and was fully rebuilt professionally in 2015).
The Engine is three liter, sixcylinder Mercedes M103 engine. Considered to be one of the most bullet proof, longest lasting engines Mercedes ever made. This is not known to have thehead gasket issues the later 320GE/G320 3.2l engines were faced with. 173,6xx original miles.
The Wheels and Tires are very nice combination. Sought after 15" wheels, powder coated (alongwith bull bars) in the same paint used for thebatmobiles in the new batman movies. A local powdercoater worked on all of the cars for Warner Bros and had left over paint. The lugs are original light alloy factory black inset models (did not powder coat originals but rather purchased these new from MB).33x12.5" Goodyear Duratrac on all four tires (plus a matching full size spare with brand new tire). Car rides very, very nice on these. Only rub is at 95% full-turn in reverse - never in drive.
The Exterior Very good toExcellent overallcondition. Never in accident.
Not a show car but was a well respected daily driver. That said - people always cannot believe how old the truck is when looking at the exterior and interior. Some of the trim around the truck started to release and was screwed back in (a common issue all G's have had). Some of the tint has been scratched or scraped away in various places. Interior panels may have usual scuff / scrape marks. there are a couple small chips to the bull bars. Some faint, faint red paint speckles on the front European license plate holder. Stuff like this.
Above is a custom roof rack which has special plates welded on to accept fork traps (so when loading bikes on there was no bike-specificapparatus that prevented using the rack for other things like kayaks or cargo). So when theres no bike on there, there is barely anything there. Note: This entire rack was removed and repainted just recently so the new owner as a fresh one to scratch up!
There is a "Karl" ladder on the back which does not penetrate into the body of the truck if you wanted to remove it. Full european head / tail lights and side markers (white and red - no orange). Mercedes bull bars alsopower coated batman black. Full tow kit with electrical hookup.
There is a custom imported snorkel from europewhich, fortunately, was never used. There are customfully welded running boards with a specially applied textured rubber coating on them.

Maintenance history
The truck was routinely serviced and maintained by the most well known G wagen garage on the east coast. When firstpurchased in 2013 the truck was completely gone through and many things replaced. Very often the truck was left purely forprophylacticmaintenance and upkeep. Full service recordsavailable upon request. More limited service recordsavailable from previous ownership.
Vehicle has been a capable and dependable truck over the last fouryears and 45,000 miles. The only known items to have addressed would probably be a new exhaust. The original MB factory exhaust was not made of stainless and so various components have begun to show their age and wear. The original resonator has been cut out and replaced with an aftermarket one and other components will need the same swap/replace or an entirely new exhaust system put on to really make it perfect. Has been driven like this now for well over a year.
If you were considering a W460 (pre 1990) and paying the money people are here oneBay ... the difference is that is a military truck that drives like a tractor. This is a military truck that drives like a mercedes - butdoesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the newer MB USA G wagens.
This truck turns tons of heads - including Mercedes USA who put the truck on their Instagram last year where something like 10,000 people dug on the car. Wishing the next owner lots of luck! Happy Bidding.
