2015 Mercedes Benz 2500 Sprinter Crew Conversion Van 144
I work as the lead installer at a van conversion company called SYNC Vans. http://www.syncvans.com While this van is not badged as a SYNC Van, I want the prospective customers to know that this van was professionally designed and built. I felt it was important to disclose this information to help the customer understand that this van is not a DIY project.
This van has the nick name of "Incognitoâ€. It was designed to not standout. That way you can blend in when you want to overnight in that public location that wouldn't normally allow an overnighter. That said, I don't have accoutrements all over the exterior van. But if one wanted to add some stuff, the van has the roof rail system ready for whatever you desire.
Secondly, I designed the interior to be the functional multitool of vehicles. In a few minutes, the bed platform is simply removed for increased cargo space. The hardware store run for multiple sheets of plywood (4' x 8â€) easily fits into the back. Gotta shuttle some kids? No problem, the factory seats and seat belts are legit and can comfortably fit 5 people. Before you know it, its camping time and you're ready to go, because your sleeping arrangements are already and you left your gear in from last week.
Burr, it's too cold to go camping. BS, get in. By firing up the Espar diesel heater, you just extended your camping season. This heater runs on diesel and is tied into the vehicles diesel fuel tank and second battery. Just set the thermostat, sit back and enjoy your favorite book.
Lastly, I had to make this van more functional for the winter conditions here in central Idaho. I felt that it was important to get to the ski hill when the road report wanted you to stay home. That said, I added an engine block heater so it heats up faster. I dramatically decreased the windshield from icing up by installing heated windshield wipers. And to top it off, I put two studded snow tires on the rear wheels (included). That with some sand in the back, I drove everywhere my wife's Subaru would go.
The best feature is the good gas mileage. My commute of 35 miles averages 27 mpg. That's awesome for a box driving down the road!
There is no excuse for the next road trip!
