You are bidding on a very clean and great running 2001 Mercedes E320 Wagon. I bought this carin Florida in 2008/2009 so I am the second owner. We bought it with 65,000 miles on it and my wife has driven it an additional 125,000 miles. These miles are almost exclusively highway in that we live in the country and you have to drive 25 miles to reach just about anything. We have had it maintained the whole time by a local repair ship that specializes in Mercedes, BMW, and Audi automobiles. The only reason we are selling it is that my wife recently had hip replacement surgery and she needed something that sat up higher and had easier egress. This car still rides better than just about any vehicle I have ever owned.
I do not want to represent this vehicle as being flawless because it certainly is not that. Although the paint is still generally in very good condition, there are some cancer spots starting to crop up in various spots. They tend to be very small which is why they don't really show up on the pictures. The worst of those spots is on the rear door/hatch just below the rear window and above the emblem. This seems to be a common spot for cancer to develop as I see it on many of theMercedes Wagons that I pass on the road. I did a bit of anon-professionalsanding and spray repair but the paint is not a perfect match. You can see the spot in the picture as it will appear as a slightly shaded area just above the Mercedes emblem.
The tires on the vehicle are Goodyear touring tires that I put on about9,000 miles ago so they are still in super shape. The vehicle has most of the luxury car stuff on it that came as standard. The interior is the MB TEX, simulated leather with no tears and is in good shape with just a bit of wear showing here and there. All the mats including the rear cargo mat are super nice Weather Tech and are in great shape. The radio has a 6 disc CD changer in the way back of the vehicle. I just installed a new battery as the car had been sitting because of my wife's surgery.
What's wrong with the car? Not a whole lot. You willsee from the pictures that the next scheduled service is the minor"A" service and that is over 5,000 miles away. The park brake is not working correctly but quite frankly we neverused itanyway. Some of the LCD display crystals are no longer working so you can't see the outside temperature, or the time, which are on the main dash on eitherside of the information display (which still works fine). Also, some of the crystalson the climate control screen are not visible either.Everythingstill works fine, you just can't see certain functions as clearly as new.
I've priced this auction with a very low starting bid and there is NO RESERVE so bid to win! Whoever gets this vehicle will end up with a very nice serviceable car that still has a lot of miles let in it!
