1987 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Luxury Description

This fine lady is a 1987 Mercedes 420SEL V8 with automatic transmission and power everything. The interior is nearly flawless, showing only regular wear, but with essentially intact seats and upholstery. She was originally owned by a famous Oscar winning actress and singer. She belonged to the wonderful and famed lady throughout her life where she was garaged in the Hollywood Hills and serviced at Hollywood Mercedes Benz. She is one of those cars where people stop you and say things like: "Nice car." or "What a classic!"
Last year I replaced the engine with a newly rebuilt motor, along with water pump, belts, radiator, alternator etc... So while the odometer shows around 150k, the engine has only about 30k on it. (I have receipts for the installation of the new engine.) I also added high end slotted disc brakes and pads and high end Michelin tires. I have all the manuals and information kits from the Hollywood showroom where she was purchased. The only things that need work are the electric antenna and the tach (its an easy fix and affects nothing - after all she's and automatic - so it's just for show).
I have a clean title and she was just inspected and registered last week, so she's good until May 2017.
Keep in mind this is a 30 year old car. It's all about style and grace with her. She can be a wee bit finicky. When you hit the gas she waits for a nanosecond then roars...with almost head snapping power, but treat her gently. This is not a car you want to take on long summer road trips across the desert - rather you want to keep her covered (I have a new car cover I am throwing in) and when its time to go to out for a night in style you bring her out. When people ask you about her - you have a story... I get nods and smiles and asked about her all the time - as will you.
From the books;
These luxo-cruisers from the 1980's had a very elegant body design and offered pure luxury inside the cabin and impressive performance on the road. The interior is fine leather and equipped with all luxury features from cruise control and climate control, electric: sunroof, windows, seats (also heated), locks, mirrors, antenna and rear defogger to factory 4-speaker AM- FM/cassette stereo system, alloy wheels, fog lamps and a full leather interior with polished wood dashboard and trim. Safety features include twin airbags and ABS anti-lock power disc brakes. (upgraded to slotted discs last year)
The Mercedes-Benz W126 is a series of S-Class automobile manufactured by Mercedes-Benz between 1979 and 1992. The W126 was the second generation to officially bear that prestigious designation, an abbreviation for the German Sonderklasse or "special class." The 116.965 engine was introduced in 1986 for the revised S-Class. It featured 9.0:1 compression and had from 204-231 PS (150-170 kW; 201-228 hp) depending on year and export market. All engines were mated to the Mercedes-Benz 4G-Tronic transmission.
(These are real pictures of her, I took them myself.)
