You are viewing a two-owner 240D sedan with a smooth-shifting 4-speed manual transmission. This car is 99% original and in truly excellent condition. This car began its life as the executive company car for a Pratt and Whitney executive who purchased it after its corporate lease was up. We then purchased it 4 years ago and proceeded to perform maintenance and updating as it had been sitting in the garage for a couple of years. To the very best of my knowledge and having been under this car many times with my mechanic, there have been no accidents and no frame damage. Even the underside of the car is in great shape considering it was a daily driver back in the day.
Inside the car with the exception of a slight wear on the driver's seat, all upholstery is in perfect condition. the dashboard, headliner, all glass and original carpet are pristine. I have replaced the floor mats with authentic cocoa mats. The AC still works and I have fitted the original stereo with the ability to stream music through it. That is really the only modern enhancement I have done to this car. It is affected with a discrete lightning wire that I connect to my iPhone and broadcasts through an FM station.
The trunk is like new complete with all tools and even the original first aid kit.
The exterior has been repainted in areas where there were some signs of rush (all professionally repaired) and the chrome still gleams. All plastic is in good shape although not as shiny as when it was new, but no cracks or splits. Tires are practically new as the car only is driven about 2500 miles per year in the summer months. Every spring it gets a full detail with hand wax and shampoo.
All functions of this car work with the exception of the cruise control and the dashboard lights. They went out about a month ago and I am afraid to have the dash taken off because I don't want it to be damaged.
Under the hood you will find a well-maintained 4 cylinder diesel engine that trucks right along (albeit at its own pace). Oil is changed religiously at 3000 miles. As is common with these cars, you do need to check the oil as they tend to use a bit of oil, but it doesn't appear to have any leaks. Below are the repairs and/or maintenance we have done to this car in the last four years.
