1991 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Description

This is the final year that this vehicle was made with its legendary chassis, W126, which started in 1979. If you're looking for an older mercedes, this is the sweetspot. This car was some $65k new and the pinnacle of old school engine and luxury mechanics before everything computerized. SPACIOUS in a way new cars aren't. Powerful durable seat motors and parts. Engine has plenty of power without being the guzzler that is the 560. This is old school luxury, sits heavy on the road, glides. Everything on the car is original or uses Mercedes parts. Wood paneling is complete, undamaged and lustrous. The seats in the SEL were upgraded by Mercedes in 1989 I believe, so older models have crappier springs and tend to collapse on one side of the seat where as this seat is stronger. You can put the front seats back virtually flat to nap. TONS of trunk room and leg room front and back. AC and Heat both work in front and back of car. No rust issues, this is a California car.
She has a couple passenger side dings, one is small and the other is tiny, but she is otherwise a total gem. The interior has been very well loved. The car was owned by one guy for decades until I bought it off him last year, you're welcome to call him. Now I need a commuter car. New tires. Radio, cassette, moonroof, cigarette lighter, electric head rest, windshield wipers on the headlights--everything still works, is unbroken and well attached. Save the tape player which is tempermental and the driver window, which I keep up right now because it's disengaged from the track (this is not related to the ding, which i did pulling out of a parking spot and turning the car into a pole.) Engine has a quiet ticking you don't really hear unless the hood is open--it's been there for 65,000 miles and would be rather pricey to fix but poses no risk nor causes harm. Ceiling is clean and photos show all the blemishes but with only 24 pics I had to leave out a lot of the good to be seen of the car.
This vehicle was meticulously maintained and that's why its in great shape. It is pretty quiet inside, usually these older cars squeak to no end. Very happy with the vehicle, I just need something for the backroads commute and this is rather wide, usually I'm on my BMW GSA 800 motorcycle when its not raining. Plus, I don't have the careful touch of the last owner and I should probably pass this to someone who does while she is still so purty!!!
Car has been going to same mechanic for decades - Rick's Mercedes over in Scotts Valley, California. He can tell you all about it. Car needs no major work. It is located at my house in Soquel, CA.
SHIPPING: I'd rather you picked it up, but I'll drive it out to you at cost, nationwide.
