1985 Mercedes Benz 230E Euro Automatic 56k miles! Cloth Interior! Clean driver!
1980 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 230E Description
NOTE: car is a 1985, eBay will not accept the European vin on cars listed as newer than 1981. Car was listed under 1980, but is a 1985 and is titled as such.
For sale is my 1985 Mercedes Benz 230E. The car is european spec import that was imported when it was a new car in 1985 by the original owner. Import documents, as well as the build sheet are included.
Engine is 4 cylinder gas, 2.3L M102 engine, similar to what was in the USA 190E 2.3, so mechanical parts are not hard to find for this Euro Version.
Functional odometer reads 56,221 miles, clean and clear Ohio Title in my name reflects ACTUAL miles.
Car has manual windows, functioning power sunroof, manual climate control (a/c system is complete, and the compressor turns freely, however the AC does not currently work)
In the time that I have owned it, I have replaced all 4 tires (Hankook), front Calipers/Pads/Rotors/Hoses, all 4 shock absorbers, Spark Plugs (non-resistor), changed the transmission oil and filter, engine oil was changed less than 500 miles ago. One rear CV axle was replaced, Battery was replaced along with the alternator voltage regulator. Front lower ball joints were also replaced.
Dashboard has some cracks in it, there is dent in the roof that is pictured, and the clearcoat has some checking in a few places. I have not attempted to cut/buff the paint on this car.
Car starts, runs, and drives very well. Car is nice and solid, photos of the bottom of the car are included to reflect that.
It is important to remember that despite the low mileage, this car is still over 32 years old and may very well require additional work or projects down the road. For me the car was a fun weekend car to cruise to Cars and Coffee in, I did not use it as my day-to-day car. I am a Mercedes enthusiast who has owned dozens of Benzes. The relatively powerful M102 made for a W123 driving experience unlike any of the 240Ds or 300D USA spec diesels I have had over the years. The car has been fun, but it is time to make room in the garage for new toys, and thus I am selling it.
The car is sold AS-IS with NO WARRANTIES, stated nor implied. In person viewings and test drives are welcomed and encouraged. Car is located in Columbus, Ohio 43224. Please contact me if you want additional photos of any specific part of the car.
