Up for bids is this low mile Mercedes 560SL. This car has had 3 owners and has been in the Portland area since 1992. Always garaged, pampered and with only 39,330 miles, this SL still has an in-the-wrapper showroom look and feel. It comes with all books and records, all of the factory service intervals have been performed, the car is ready to be driven any amount of distance in comfort and style.

The car wears all original paint in "Artic White", code 147. The paint finish on the car still looks fantastic with excellent depth and gloss. On close inspection you'll find a few small touched in chips here and there but overall the car stands tall. All body panels are arrow straight and of course the car has no rust issues anywhere. Tires are quality Michelins with only a few hundred miles on them. All 4 wheels are terrific with no curb rash and no pitting or flaking of the chrome.

Bumpers are straight and true with no damage. Panel fit on the car is factory perfect throughout.

Lights and lenses all look like new. The trunk mounted 3rd light shows a small crack on each side of the base.

The front air dam is in great condition with no cracks or splits. All of the car's glass is original, including the windshield. The original Bosch wiper blade holders are still present, you'd be surprised to see what these are selling for on eBay.

The car has been fitted with genuine Bosch Euro headlights, they feature a low wattage mode as seen in photos 3 and 4, a great look at dusk or dawn.

Factory hardtop with as-new trim, glass and headliner, all in excellent condition. With the hardtop fitted, these SL's transform into airtight coupes for year round use.

The soft top storage well is clean and rust free, the perimeter weatherstripping seal is original and still in great shape.

The soft top is original to the car and has good fit and finish with no wear. The OE Wopavin branded windows on the soft top are still clear and pliable.

The interior is like a time warp back to 1986, the original leather upholstery is in terrific condition. I removed the MB floor mats to show the carpet underneath, both are mint. All of the car's weatherstripping is original and still in good shape. Dash top shows no splits or cracks.

Everything in this interior works correctly. Lights, signals, horn, wipers, etc - all work as they should. All gauges operate correctly except for the clock. The car shows good oil pressure and stable operating temperatures. All indicator lights illuminate correctly when the ignition is turned on. The original Becker radio is included but has been replaced with a XM-ready Sony CD head unit. It has good sound and the power antenna operates in tandem with it. Climate control works correctly, including the stepped fan feature in auto mode. The A/C blows ice cold, it has recently been converted to R134a and fully charged. Central locking system works. The car has not been smoked in.

Power windows work smoothly, as well as the remote mirror control and vanity visors. The rear parcel shelf carries an unused first aid kit.

Clean footwells and door jambs, there's no substitute for a low mile car.

Untouched trunk with the original Continental spare, which has never been on the ground.

Clean and original everywhere you look. The car comes with all of its factory brochures and manuals, as well as the tool kit, still unused.

The car runs and drives just like it looks - excellent. It starts at the flick of the key and runs strongly, offering plenty of power with no issues. It idles smoothly, shifts flawlessly, brakes well and runs down the road with a nice tight suspension. This car is a pleasure to drive.

Strict originality throughout.

Clean CarFax.

Solid and undamaged underneath, just an extremely well preserved SL.
With W113 values now in the six figure range, some collectors are starting to look at the R107 as the next to watch. As with most Mercedes, low mile and original examples will always be blue chip investments.
