The G63 AMG gets a 5.5-liter V-8, but is supplemented by two turbochargers that boost power output to 536 hp and 561 lb-ft, propelling the 5876-pound four-wheel from 0 to 60 mph in just 5 seconds. “The modern G-Wagen is a military truck in dress fatigues,” we noted in a recent test of a G63 AMG. “It’s still body-on-frame; it still has a low gear transfer case in unison with three mechanically locking differentials; and it still is capable of driving up a wall. Well, a wall at a pretty severe angle. Point is, the G is still essentially unstoppable. Only faster.”
