1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SL
Black (Code 040)
Palomino Leather (Code 274)
14,975 miles from new.
Original owner leased this vehicle on June 28 1989 from Benzel Busch Mercedes Benz in Engelwood NJ.
At the completion of the lease agreement in 1993 the original owner purchased the vehicle from Benzel Busch.
The vehicle was used solely for fair weather weekend driving and special occasions and the vehicle is in Concours condition inside and out.
The vehicle was always well maintained mechanically and garaged in a climate controlled facility and covered.
The original Black 040 has a show quality shine and is well complimented by bright and clear chrome trim and anodized aluminum.
Both hard top and soft top are like new, and the soft-top was never used.
The vehicle's interior is absolutely the best I have ever seen.
It is documented in the lease agreement that the seats were fitted with sheepskin seat covers at the time of delivery.
Those sheepskin seat covers were not removed until the spring of 2017.
The leather is soft and shows exactly like it did in 1989 (see video and photos).
Burlwood inlays have a deep rich color and mirror finish with no cracks in the clear coat.
Dash pad is unblemished and the gauges are a deep bright orange.
The engine bay and undercarriage are ready to be judged at a Concours event as all decals and factory markings are clearly present.
Even the cadmium plated component on the engine bay and undercarriage show like new.
The vehicle was purchased by its second owner in the winter of 2016.
A comprehensive mechanical sorting using OEM Mercedes Benz parts was performed which included all, belts, fluids, filters, engine mounts, transmission mount and tune up.
The current owner also purchased OEM 15" refinished wheels and Michelin MXV4 tires for road used.
The original Pirelli P6 tires come with the car and the original wheels.
The wheels and tires where removed and were only to be used for show events.
The vehicle was also fitted with brand new Billstein shock absorbers front and rear in June of this year.
The car runs and drives and nice as it looks, and all power option function 100%.
The AC blows ice cold through all the proper vents, and the Becker BE754 radio was serviced by Becker Autosound earlier this year.
Please take the time to watch the Youtube video and all the over 100+ photos below.
