1971 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class 280SL Description

1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL. Tobacco brown with Cognac leather interior, color matching hard top and a white soft top. This vehicle has the rare 4-Speed manual transmission, A/C and original leather interior in excellent condition. The car has had only one respray in the 80's due to paint fade. Currently has a modern stereo system installed but the original Becker radio is included as seen in the trunk pictures. Also has the factory heated rear window in the hardtop. This is an exceptionally nice, straight and solid southern car.
Around 800 280SL's were made in 1971 world wide. Of those, about half came to the US and of those only around 10% were manual transmissions, making this a very rare car. Along with the color combination, leather interior and A/C could make this a 1 of 1 car.
Two family owners since new. Always garage kept which explains why the original leather interior has held up so well.
Car is in great mechanical condition, runs and drives as it should. Like new Michelin radials.
