Note: I was rear-ended on the 101 shortly after I purchased the car but it was at slow speed so the only damage was to the rear bumper and the associated parking sensors, all replaced. Then, in 2015, I drove through a minor sand storm on the 10. NO paint was damaged, protected by the bras. However, State Farm was nice enough to replace EVERY piece of chrome on the front half of the car, along with the headlamp & fog light covers and every window on the car with the exception of the rear window.
