Built by Thoroughbred Coach Builders in Florida as a factory turnkey car, this Mercedes Benz 300 SLR replica has covered only ABOUT 1000 miles since its completion. At a cost of over $72,000 to build, this car presents its self very well and looks extremely handsome.( TWICE THE PRICE OF A FERRARI AT THE TIME) There were only 12 built before mercedes shut the operation down

this car was purchased and brought to Alberta Canada back in the 80s and is actually registered as a 1955 mercedes Benz 300 SL, so no ptoblem importing or exporting anywhere in the worl, it has about 1000 miles on the car since built and was a one owner till i received the ca, i do have the original thoroughbred book etc . original owner just took the car to the odd car shows etc . the seats were tired so i put brand new seats in and am having custom headrests currently being made that will be included

Theblack interior is appealing and compliments the car well. The seats and dash have no rips, tears or sun damage. It also has an cd/stereo, both driver and passenger's seatbelts and the carpets are in great condition .
The Plexiglas covered headlights are included but not on the car currently .

History:

In 1955, 534 Racing Motorcars from around Europe decended on Italy for the 1000 mile Mille Miglia. Sterling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio finished first and second in the Open Class in Mercedes SLR’s, beating Ferrari by over 45 minutes and smashing the course record, which stands to this day. Mercedes would also finish one-two in the GT class using 300SL’s of lesser engine displacement.
