Even today, this executive owned for the last six years 500 SL defies showing it’s age and still stands tall. Our Mercedes is a rare Sport model with deepened front and rear bumper covers, sculpted rocker panels and the 18″ AMG wheel and tire combination

The Mercedes-Benz R129 SL roadsters were produced from 1989 through 2002.The R129 was produced as a two-door roadster with an automated (electro-hydraulic) textile tonneau cover. All R129s came standard with an detachable hardtop that could fitted by folding the canvas roof down and manually attaching it.

Finished in a beautiful “Brilliant Silver” metallic, the paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Front and rear bumpers are colored coded have an excellent fit and finish that show well. All trim pieces are present and have a brilliant finish. The weather-stripping surround the doors and glass are in very good condition with no signs of drying, tearing or shrinkage. The headlights and taillights are in very condition with no hazing or cracks. Paint and body are exceptional with very little evidence of repair or damage that we could find. The hardtop is in good shape, and the soft top/windows while being worn is still serviceable.

Inside, the original Ash Grey leather seats all look great with no major signs of wear visible as is the case with the matching carpet and floor mats throughout the interior. The door panels and dashboard are also in excellent shape with limited wear showing. The burled walnut trim adds just enough contrast and warmth to enhance the entire interior. The rearview mirror is loose but the glass is good. The factory steering wheel is in great condition, car also boasts power windows, power locks, automatic dual-zone air conditioning, Seven-channel digital surround sound and MOST (Media Oriented Serial Transport) media system used in the rest of the Mercedes Benz line, cruise control, and so much more. We must note that the Climate control display has some burnt out Lights, but still operates fine.

This nicely represented Mercedes is equipped with the powerful and optional 302hp, 5.0L, 24-valve SOHC V8 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes and sensor-controlled roll bars as well as 18-inch AMG alloy wheels wrapped in directional R rated tires with plenty of tread life remaining, wheels present well with just a few chips or minor curb rash. There is some slight damage on the lower portion of the front chin spoiler.

This Mercedes Benz S-Class is a classic European car. It is comfortable and safe as well as elegant looking; ideal for drives across the countryside or high class transport on the “Autobahn”, but with this SL 500 you’ll find yourself driving and looking for twisty back roads instead… GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
