1993 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Description

One-owner with a clean vehicle history report. Vehicle originated in Florida and found it’s way back and forth between Indiana and Florida depending on the season. This sweet 600SL was locally owned and traded in on a R8 Spyder. Cosmetically the exterior and interior are in excellent condition. Upon receiving the vehicle on trade, we drove the car for over 150 worry free miles and then properly detailed the car. Shortly after the car decided to stumble every so often and upon further investigation, it seems to have succumbed to the unfortunate engine harness failure. If you're not familiar, check out several of the MB forums and you'll soon find that nearly all 91-97 Mercedes-Benz models were produced with faulty engine harness looms. The insulation used basically deteriorates and overtimes cracks and falls off leaving exposed wires. We believe this to be the problem as the symptoms look and sound identical to the thousands of others that have had the same problems. At this time, we don't have the time to work on the vehicle and will sell the vehicle as is. Overall if this loom was of no issue, we believe this car would easily fetch $15k-$17k and overtime will bring even more money due to the fact that it peaks collectors interests as the only year for the two-tone 600SL was in 1993.
