Think of the Mercedes E550 as a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle 454 SS. Remember the days when automakers stuffed their largest engines into a midsized vehicle? Well, here we have it. The 5.5 Liter V8 is the standard engine in the S Class, the full sized Mercedes. Put this engine in their midsized vehicle and you have something extra special. I personally drive an S Class with the 5.5 Liter V8 and very few vehicles can keep up with that car. Now, you have that power in the midsized lineup, the E Class. We learned about this vehicle and picked it up from a reliable seller in Florida. The car is just as clean in person as it is here. But, of course, you expect vehicles this nice from Grove Automotive Group, Inc.!

Finished in plumb metallic with a camel colored accent stripe and camel camel colored leather upholstery, this ULTRA CLEAN 2008 Mercedes E550 features about everything that you expect in a German luxury performance sedan beginning with the smooth and responsive 5.5 Liter V8 teamed with the 7-speed automatic, driver, passenger, side and roof SRS (air bags), fully automatic climate control featuring a factory R134a refrigerant charge, 4-wheel ABS (anti-lock brakes), Mercedes’ own AirMatic® system which gives the vehicle a smooth and comfortable ride on air struts, factory sunroof, power windows, central locking system, power mirrors, power seats, factory alloy wheels, factory sound system, navigation system, 4-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, rear window defroster, folding rear seats, driver’s information center, service reminder system, factory security system, and much more!

Service and Inspection Report:

We brought this clean Mercedes in for service and really didn’t find much in need of attention. The prior owner has kept the vehicle serviced and the vehicle history shows a clear record of service during ownership.

The oil appears to have been recently changed.

We did note a very slight oil streak at the crankcase breather so we simply replaced that part rather than do like most dealers and look the other way.

Turning our attention to the brakes, both front and rear look fine.

Moving along, we changed the cabin air filter.

On the chassis, we noted that the vehicle was equipped with Continental® brand tires, but they were close to the wear bars. So, we ordered and installed a BRAND NEW SET of Continental® ExtremeContact DW performance tires illustrated in the listing. We don’t use no-name tires made in some third world country that will fall apart on you. We use a quality name brand tire that is representative of our commitment to quality. Most dealers would have looked the other way and said that the tires “look good” as they rub their chin and lie like a rug.

When we install new tires on vehicles equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), we order and have the reseal kit installed when the tires are being changed. We have installed the reseal kit for this vehicle for you.

Continuing on the chassis, we noticed some suspension noise that is actually quite common on the later E Class Mercedes. We replaced the lower control arms and upper ball joints, quieting that suspension and taking care of that for you.

We normally change wiper blades but the wiper blades look relatively new and have the Mercedes emblem on them, a sign that they have been changed by the dealer.

Shop around and then ADD IT UP! Why buy one that needs work? How much will that cost you in addition to the car itself? The items that we serviced would easily cost you $2,500 if you did all of this after the sale. Buy from Grove. That’s the Grove Automotive Group, Inc. difference.

Extended Payment Option:

We are offering this vehicle with an EXTENDED PAYMENT OPTION that allows you to secure this transaction and take some extra time to pay for the vehicle before taking delivery. To qualify, you must send the deposit of 20% of the vehicle price as listed in the "terms" section of the listing, followed by another 25% 30 days later, another 25% 60 days later and the balance of the vehicle at 90 days.

There is a storage fee after the first 30 days (first 30 days are at no charge) and we offer the storage up to 90 days when the balance is to be paid in full.

You can take up to 90 days to pay for the vehicle as long as you follow the payment schedule that is posted.

Absolute Satisfaction Program™:

All vehicles sold carry the Grove Automotive Group, Inc. original "ABSOLUTE SATISFACTION PROGRAM™". What this means is that when you come to get the vehicle or when you go to the shipping terminal to get your vehicle, if you are not satisfied with your purchase your purchase money is refunded. If your vehicle was shipped customer must pay return shipping charges. Shipping both ways, order processing charge and additional service work ordered are not refundable.

Vehicle Shipping:

If you would like to ship your vehicle, we will work with you to choose a shipping company. Shipping is no longer handled exclusively through DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers). Shipping charges are paid to Grove Automotive Group, Inc. who then sets up the shipping order for you. The vehicle is in your possession when we turn the vehicle over to your chosen shipping company, or their designated terminal.

Shipping times are controlled by the shipping company.

Vehicle In-Person Pickup:

Over the years, nearly 95% of all customers have either 1.) chosen to have their vehicle shipped, or 2.) picked them up over a weekend. If you choose to have your vehicle shipped, we use the terminal in Birmingham as otherwise described in the listing. If you want to pick up the vehicle, YOU MUST CHECK MY SCHEDULE AND CONFIRM SO BEFORE MAKING PLANS. Additionally, our normal pickup times are over a weekend. This is defined at 5:00 AM Central Time Saturday through 11:59 PM Central Time Sunday. If you want a delivery outside of this time, it must be prearranged – no exceptions.

Non-Alabama residents add $169.00 order processing charge to the purchase price of the vehicle.

As states begin to squabble over sales tax, effective January 1, 2016 vehicles sold in Alabama whose owner takes them to Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan or South Carolina are subject to a 2% Alabama tax on the price of the vehicle. Your home state will give you credit for this tax paid to Alabama so you are not paying the tax twice. Our invoice to customers in the above states will show the tax amount so you can receive that same amount as a credit when you pay your home state sales tax.

NOTICE TO ALABAMA RESIDENTS:
