Here is a fun drivable project car to finish how you please.
I have put 4,000 miles on this car.
First off it is a 1949 Mercury 2-door Sedan that has been fitted over a 2002 Mustang Chassis. The Mustang GT was a convertable which makes the unibody alot stronger. Thats why I use this chassis. It was stretched to make the wheel base match the stock Mercury wheelbase. This car has all the goodies .
V-8 4.6 Automatic traction control. Anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes. This car is now a unibody car that drivers great and handles great and rides as smooth as a Mustang should.
It has new struts on the front with coilovers on them. The rear has new air shocks to help support very little weight off the stock rear springs. This car has all Mustang drive tran, including the gas tank and all the emissions. Keep in mind that it is titled as a 1949 Mercury. The top was chopped and the body channeled over a Mustang unibody. The car is built very well and is fun to drive! I have put over 4,000 miles on this car. All it needs is side windows instslled, regulators are already their track and glass are not. The windshield and quarter windows are safety glass. It needs an electric wiper motor in place of the stock vacuum one. This car does have air and heat. It is all their except the AC condensor is not installed or the hoses hooked up. The interior is all stock it has bucket seats and a console with CD player. All Mustang! The dash has been fitted to take the Mustang dash cluster which is fitted in the Mercury dash and all gauges work as they should. The back seat bottom is fitted in stock location but the back of the backseat would have to be made. It has luan door panels made that could be covered. This is why I call it a work in progress. Design it how you want it. Thats the fun of it.
The wheels are stock Mustang wheels. The battery is located in the trunk easy access if needed along with the spare tire.
