1951 Mercury Pick-Up Description

1951 Mercury Pickup Truck
This very unique, Canadian-built 1951 Mercury M1 pickup truck had a complete frame-off restoration six years ago. The only modifications from original were a 6-volt alternator and a newer 9-inch rear end. While I am unable to confirm that the reconditioned motor (239 cu. in. flat head 8 cyl.) is the original, it is certainly the type of motor installed in these trucks at the factory in 1951. Since I purchased the truck in 2012, I have added a brand new radiator, chrome
rear bumper, new headliner, reupholstered seat, AM/FM radio and CD player (hidden in the glove box so as not to detract from the original in dash) and a
complete duel exhaust system with headers.
The truck is a pleasure to drive and turns heads both on the road and at shows. I hate to part with this great vehicle but having built a cottage during the last year, it is time to turn my interests elsewhere.
