1977 Mercury Grand Marquis Marquis Description

1977 Mercury Marquis sedan with 87,000 original miles and less then 1,000 miles on the rebuilt 400 cubic inch V8. Previous owner poured too much Seafom into the carburetor and it caused too much pressure in one of the cylinders which cracked the cylinder wall. So the block itself is NEW, and I have $5k in receipts to prove it! Runs and drives like a champ and has made trips to Ocean City and Gettysburg with no problems at all. I would not hesitate to drive this car to Florida tomorrow.
Has a touch of rust on the bottom of one of the doors, and rot on the bumper. Vinyl top is also thin and should probably be replaced, but is good at a distance. These are all projects I was going to work on this summer but I happened to buy an old Trans Am and an El Camino within the past few month that usurped the Marquis' garage space, and I hate seeing it sitting outside in the weather. It is such a nice original car that I had planned on keeping as it needs so little work to be perfect, but I now have other more valuable cars to devote my time and energy too.
A/C blows ice cold, aftermarket cruise control works great, and in-dash 8 track sounds awesome. This was the Volunteer Fire Chief's car in Berlin MD back in the day so it has a CB radio with a PA system. Which is a LOT of fun!
The vacuum system for the headlights is in great condition and can hold the headlight covers shut for at least 2 weeks, which is the longest I've ever gone without driving it.
It does have valid plates and I am currently driving it if anyone wants to go on a test drive and is in the Northern Baltimore/Parkville area. I know I'm going to take a loss, but it's worth it if someone gives the car a good home and gives it the care it deserves. Vehicle would be categorized slightly above average and is priced accordingly.
