If you need more info, PLEASE contact me Only noticeable thing on car is a little spill on back seat (please refer to pictures), looks like ice cream. I bought it like this and never got around to trying to wash it out
APPARANTLY these MINI Coopers had a defective timing chain and tensioner, and there was a recall on them, mine was taken to the dealer for the "recall inspection" (which is a joke) and THEY said there are no issues at this time. The defect, is a weak chain, and an over tensioned tensioner, and there is NO way to determine this by an inspection. Needless to say, the timing chain broke 9 months later. and MINI did everything in their power to NOT be responsible for this (even though there is a HUGE lawsuit out there on them for this), and it looks like NOW, 9 months later, mine falls outside of their 7 year coverage for it. 9 months ago it did not :-(
SO........LONG STORY SHORT, I ended up having to fix it myself, as the dealership wanted $14,000 to repair it now (YES $14,000) I had the motor removed, rebuilt, and: Replaced EVERY gasket and seal on the motor Replaced the timing chain & tensioner (with the "revised" Chain and Tensioner) Replaced the Timing chain guides, Crankshaft bolt, Crankshaft Sprocket & Camshaft bolts Replaced the oil pump and oil pump chain Replaced the Spark Plugs Replaced all 4 fuel injectors Replaced the Thermostat Replaced the Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate & Throwout Bearing If you price this out ANYWHERE, it will run you wellover $7,500 easily, so you are getting a VERY dependable and corrected motor, with the rest of the car ONLY having 85,000 miles on it!!! ALL parts used, were MINI parts, even the coolant and oil was from MINI Cooper
Also just tinted thewindows a few weeks ago, a must here in AZ!!
