2004 Mini Cooper S Cooper S 2 door hatchback Description
Great condition Blue 2004 Mini Cooper S. 130,000 miles (will go up slightly with semi-regular use).
6 Speed manual transmission, 1.6L Supercharged engine. Air conditioning/climate control, heated leather seats, CD player with aux-in. Moon roof with sliding front section.
I've owned the car for nearly 2 years now and have taken as best care of it as I can. Regular oil changes every 3-4 months with 5w-30 Fully Synthetic oil, Royal Purple if possible (never covered enough miles to need a change sooner). Currently runs and drives great. Only selling as I'll be leaving the country in the near future and so have no use for it.
While I've owned the car I have done the following maintenance/repairs:
- Drive belt, drive belt tensioner, valve cover gasket replaced - July 2015
- Spark plugs & HT leads replaced, Oil & filter change - August 2015
- Battery replaced, oil & filter change - December 2015
- Power steering pump replaced under recall - March 2016
- Oil & filter change - April 2016
- Replaced front right engine mount with solid rubber aftermarket mount - May 2016
- Replaced supercharger oil, water pump gasket, air intake gasket, throttle body gasket - June 2016
- Oil & filter change - End of August, 2016
- Replaced 3 power steering hoses, water pump, oil filter housing gasket. Refill AC, oil change, coolant change - December 2016
I have receipts for parts or work for almost all of the above. Well over $2500 total in maintenance and repairs alone. Also, I'm told that the clutch was replaced around 115,000, before I bought the car.
Aside from mechanical maintenance, the car has new custom leather and suede front seats (only around 1 year old) as well as suede covered dashboard, a-pillars, down-tubes surrounding CD player and armrests. It also has suede shifter and handbrake gaitor/surrounds to match seats.
I fitted a double USB port in the glove box and added an aux input among the switches in the center console. It has a Raceseng weighted gear knob and a JCW carbon fiber handbrake handle. The side scuttles have been painted in black plastidip (can be easily removed if desired) and side lights in front and rear bumpers as well as side indicators/signals have been replaced with clear plastic.
The original chrome/plastic switches in the center console have been replaced with custom 3d printed steel switches.
The car had an Alta 15% reduced supercharger pulley fitted before I bought the car.
The only problems I'm aware of with the car are:
The front right suspension strut mount is pretty worn and will sometimes squeak when turning the wheels at low speed. It doesn't prevent you from driving so I never got around to fixing as other issues were more important.
The part is only around $50 to replace. There are also a few audible knocks when going over bumps at low speed which I believe are suspension bushings that could do with replacing sometime in the future.
