2003 Mini Cooper S Description

Originally purchased new by my Aunt Betty in 2003, this R53 Mini Cooper S has been very well taken care of and adult driven since it first left Ralph Schomp Mini in Denver, Colorado. It is still in great shape 14 years later and does not even have 35,000 miles on the odometer. Having been sold to me a few years ago, I am now putting the Mini up for sale due to the arrival of my first-born child and a need for a larger vehicle.
As a weekend grocery-getter up in the mountains west of Denver, my Aunt babied this car and only logged 19,000 miles on it for the 10 years she owned it. During her ownership, the car was always serviced at the dealership as shown by the complete paperwork and maintenance history that accompanies the car. A 3M Clear-bra was installed years ago and is still in great condition. In addition to regularly scheduled maintenance, she opted to have Ralph Schomp Mini install the 'Mini Mania Stage 2' performance kit which they had been promoting at the time. This kit was installed to the tune of nearly $3600, which included a 15% reduced supercharger pulley, K&N Air filter and revised intake, Borla Stainless Exhaust, and an ECU upgrade. The result of this installation was an increase in power from 173 bhp stock to well over 200 bhp and a more aggressive exhaust and supercharger note. Performance characteristics of this upgrade put this 'S' on par with the contemporary John Cooper Works upgraded cars - at roughly half the cost of the factory kit.
This car has resided in the Kansas City area since I took ownership in November 2012, and it has been treated with nothing but respect and constant care since then. It has spent most of its life in a climate controlled garage, and has always been kept clean and polished. In July 2016, the car went to the local MINI dealership (Baron MINI) for the factory recall and replacement of the power steering pump. At that time the service department conducted a complimentary inspection and nothing out of the ordinary was noted on the invoice. This car has always received oil changes at regular intervals and has recently had ABS sensor wires replaced, a new serpentine belt installed, a new coolant reservoir installed, a replacement catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, a new oil dipstick and upgades to the cowl vents (R56) from the original foam style inserts. All books, tools, paperwork, and receipts come with the car, as do the original and unused carpets (factory all-weather mats have always been in place). In addition, you will get both sets of wheels shown in the photos. The 17" Mini S-Lite factory wheels with the Pirelli Eufori run flats are currently on the car, you will also receive the Anthracite Pro Race 2 wheels with Falken XENIS summer performance tires (two seasons of use). Both sets of wheels are in great shape and the tires have more than adequate tread life remaining.
I welcome bidders to ask any questions or to arrange a pre-purchase inspection during the active auction. I have numerous photographs if there is anything you would like to see in addition to those available for viewing on this page. There are multiple shops around my home that are qualified to check out a car like this, I am confident you will be happy with what they will tell you. Serious bidders with less than 10 feedback rating please contact me so there are no outstanding issues that may hamper a smooth transaction from happening.
This car is being sold as-is by a private party, please ask any questions you might have prior to bidding on this future collectible! This car has never seen abuse on a race track, autocross course, or any other situation that could have led to any damage. Other than a couple peck marks on the front end, this car looks as great as it did back in 2003.
