4,800 total original miles from new!
This car was purchased from Classic Mini in Mentor, Ohio in the fall of 2002. It was driven about 600 miles and then placed in a large private car collection. It saw very sporadic use in 2003, but then was not driven again until late 2014.
During its time in the collection, the car was started and exercised regularly. After its time in the collection, the car went immediately to the BMW dealer for a $4,093 recommissioning that saw all four tires replaced with the correct 17inch run flats, a new, upgraded engine wiring harness installed, a new throttle body, all fluids flushed, and the rear windows tinted. (Copy of maintenance records will come with the car.)
My Mini had 3,000 miles on it by late 2015 and now has around 4,800. Recent maintenance/care includes:
-- Replacement of all three windshield wiper blades/arms with correct NOS Valeo originals
-- Installation of correct factory accessory rubber floor mats
-- Installation of a seat cover for the driver’s side lower cushion to prevent wear.
The interior remains mint, and the rear seats have never been used.
The car is well optioned.
It has Lapis Blue Leather upholstery, the Combo #1 Premium Package, which includes:
-- Sunroof,
-- Automatic air conditioning
-- Multi-function steering wheel
-- Cruise control and onboard computer
And the #2 Sport Package which includes:
--Dynamic Stability Control
--Sports seats
--Front Fog Lamps
--Xenon headlight
--17 inch wheels

The price new was $24,000.
There are a few minor blemishes: Two wheels have minor curb rash. There is a small paint chip on the bonnet and a small portion of the passenger side airbag cover has delaminated.
The Mini needs nothing mechanically, drives and feels like a new Mini. There are zero modifications save for a pair of Union Jack decals (easily removed) on the front fenders.
This may be the lowest mileage R53 that is not in a museum. It’s an absolute joy to drive, with everything working as it should, cold air conditioning, etc. There is one open recall for the power steering system, but BMW does not have the parts ready yet.
I am happy to provide more photos of any area and answer any questions. I was present when the car was delivered new and I can vouch for this car every day of its life. It has not been driven in snow, has never seen a salty road and has never been in an accident or had any body work.
