2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider GT Description

Up for sale is a very nice and clean, top-of-the-line, high performance 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spider GT. This car features only 32 K miles, and it shows it. While it is far from a perfect car, I expect the new owner can easily repair the issues and the car can be driven for many happy years to come. Your neighbors will think you have money. It's a tremendous car, I just have other pressing needs.

Pros:

Only 32 K miles. I think it was a “snow bird” car that only got driven a couple thousand miles a year. This car has probably never seen ice or snow. I haven't run a Carfax.

A real head turner. Looks really cool. Put on your leather jacket and put the top down. Not modified except for the small grill I tacked onto the front.

New high performance Michelin Primacy MXV4 on the stock 17” wheels with maybe 1200 miles. Front end alignment. This car goes straight and rides nice. Huge brake rotors stop you fast. 200 HP 24 valve V6 is too fast for me, but it certainly runs, starts, and goes good, etc. 5 speed shifts nice. Clutch works like it should. I don't think this car was ever abused. Cold AC

Battery one year old.

I replaced the accessory belts, changed the oil, changed brake fluid, changed power steering fluid, clutch fluid.

Issues:

Couple holes in passenger seat, seam split on drivers seat

Air bag light on ( I didn't try to reset)

Check engine light on

Needs a new top... dried out, can't be fixed... leaks at the doors (I got a quote of $900)

Musty smell from leak. Trying to dry out in Florida humidity, keeping under cover.

Need radio security code... radio inoperative

Cruise control stopped working. It was working until recently

Some door dents in the body panels.

Small crease in rear quarter panel behind drivers door.

I inspected the timing belt, it looked very clean and new. I opted to do another inspection in a year, but you'll probably want to replace the belt soon. You don't need to worry about it to get you home IMHO.

This is a NO RESERVE auction. This car will be sold to the highest bidder if “Buy-it-Now” feature is not used.

I will require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of end-of auction I will give you 30 days to pay and take possession of the car. After 30 days if you do not pay and take possession. you forfeit your $500 deposit and I sell it to someone else. Acceptable payment is cash or bank check. I can assist you in ground transportation by pickup and Tampa International Airport. Florida residents agree to accompany me to tax office to transfer ownership at time of taking possession.
