2003 Mitsubishi

Montero Sport XLS

This item is a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS. It is in good operational and physical condition. I’ve owned it since October of 2003 and mainly used it as a second car in the winter months. I put only about 7,000 to 8,000 miles a year on it. The car has been well maintained I changed the oil every 3,000 to 4,000 miles and had all recommended service items performed. The vehicle does have some ware and tear that would be expected with a vehicle this age but all in all is in good condition. The car has just over 113,000 miles on it. The tires are all in good condition and do not need to be replaced. It is a great winter vehicle. I would love to use it for one more winter, but it is probably better to sell it now at the beginning of winter season. It has a number of features, the main ones are listed below.

·6 Cylinder Sohc 3.5 L Multi-Port Fuel Injection Engine

·Power door locks and windows

·Automatic Transmission

·Leather Seats

·Sunroof

·Full time All Wheel Drive with the ability to manually shift into 4 Wheel Drive Low and High

·Heated Seats

·Directional Compass and Exterior Temperature

·Aftermarket JVC CD-Radio with USB port and Bluetooth

Over the years there has also been a number of repairs done, those along with any known problems are listed below.

Items that have been repaired or replaced:

·New grease seals on front axel in September 2013 at 88,000 miles

·The Battery was replaced in October 2013 at 89,000 miles

·Transfer case and rear differential oil changed in March 2014 at 92,000 miles

·Rear Brakes, rotors and calipers were replaced in June 2014 at 95,000 miles

·Replaced main serpentine belt in October 2014 at 97,000 miles

·Radiator was flushed and filled in October 2014 at 97,000 miles

·Changed transmission fluid and replaced transmission fluid pan and filter, in August 2015 at 102,000 miles

·Front Brakes, rotors and calibers were replaced in May 2016 at 109,000 miles

OK, now the known problems, these are mostly minor but I want to mention them.

·The engine goes through about ½ a quart of oil between oil changes. This has been fairly consistent over the last few years. The exhaust is clear so I’m pretty sure it is not burning any oil. I believe there is a small leak on the valve cover gasket.

·There is a small spot of rust on the bottom of the driver side front fender right in front of the door.

·The driver side rear quarter is dented above the wheel.

·There are spots on the fenders and flairs over the wheels (mainly the exterior plastic parts of the vehicle) where the paint clear coat has chipped off.

·The front seat driver heater is slow to heat up and doesn’t get quite as warm as is used to.

·The ABS sensor is going bad. Every now and then the ABS dash light will come on. Also as the vehicle it comes to a stop, especially when backing up, the breaks will sometimes pulse as though the ABS is engaged. This doesn’t affect the ability to stop or operate the vehicle. It has been doing this for the last few years. But since the ABS is still operating fine most of the time I never got around to getting the sensor replaced.

Payment can be made through Paypal or by Money Order. Once the payment is made the car can be picked up or the buyer can pay to have it shipped using one of the shipping services available through ebay or selected by the buyer. Once the payment is made I’ll have the title signed and notarized. This can be mailed to the buyer or picked up with the car if the payment is made prior to pickup.

Good Luck and Thanks for bidding.
