For your consideration is a 1996 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo (TT) Commemorative Edtion (CE), #276 of 300.
In 1996, Nissan discontinued sales of its 300ZX model in the U.S.To note the significance of the end of the 300ZX line in the U.S., Nissan identified the final 300 1996 300ZX cars as Commemorative Edition vehicles. This car is #276 of 300.Only 78 of the final 300 were Twin Turbos, and even fewer were Twin Turbos with a manual transmission.
General positive qualities of this 1996 Nissan 300ZX TT (Z32):
- considered the most collectible of the 1990-1996 Nissan 300ZXs as #276 of the last 300 imported into the U.S., and 1 of 78 Twin Turbos; special Commemorative Edition plaque on center console next to clock and 300ZX 26th Anniversary (1970-1996) rear quarter window stickers on both sides
- rated 300-320 bhp original Nissan 3.0L/V6 VG30DE engine with twin turbos, and recent timing belt change less than 500 miles ago, along with complete 90k mile tune up;
- one of the few iconic 1990s Japanese sports cars, along with the Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, and Mitsubishi 3000GT/VR4;
- upgraded B&B (Billy Boat) 3-inch pipe cat-back exhaust with quad oval tips;
- recent down to metal 7-layer professional re-paint (not re-spray) of original color code with replacement of all exterior trim because of sun damage during previous ownerships
The following make this car unique/special compared to other 300ZXs listed for sale:
- low mileage (87,505 miles, which is less than 4,200 miles per year)
- no rust, frame or body damage; dash remains true, i.e. dash is not cracked

Approximately $6000.00 in mechanical maintenance conducted over the past two years to keep the car in excellent mechanical/driving condition. An additional $4500 to professionally re-paint (not re-spray) the exterior down to the metal with 7-layers of professional primers, paint, and top coats.
The maintenance work is highlighted by the following:
- timing belt replaced at just over 87,000 miles, so about 500 miles ago
- periodic 30,000 mile service at 87,000 miles, which included all filters and fluids changed (coolant, oil, brake, transmission/clutch), seals and gaskets, replaced spark plugs, new tires, and new battery
- installation of B&B 3-inch cat-back exhaust with quad oval tips at 87,000 miles
Overall this car is in exceptional mostly original/OEM condition.
For full disclosure, items that need to be addressed, but do not impact the driving performance or safety of the vehicle:
- the rear hatch window has aging aftermarket tint, which was not removed to avoid possible damage to the defrost line elements; however, these line elements do not seem to be working properly.
- the front and rear windshield washers are not operating properly.
- the interior is in very good to excellent shape, but does show various degrees of UV fading
- the driver’s seat switch works, but one of the toggles was broken during the paint work; there is a full replacement switch that comes with the car
- there is slight oil seepage around the turbos, which results in 30-60 seconds of smoking if the car is not started/driven for more than 3-5 days; when started/driven every day, initial smoking does not occur; turbos work properly, but could use new seals
This car is ready for someone to enjoy the driving experience and benefit more from the increasing value of the car.This car will not diminish in value.Please see collectible reviews from various periodicals such as Motor Trend, Car & Driver, Hagerty. For a car that is 21 years old, it looks and drives much younger and has only the above minimal issues.
Finding a 1996 Nissan 300ZX TT Commemorative Edition vehicle in almost all original/OEM condition, low mileage, and recent maintenance to place it in proper, worry-free condition will be extremely difficult to find anywhere, and for a reasonable price.
I am confident that the next owner will be exceptionally pleased with the drive value of this vehicle.
