1963 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cutlass Description

Here is your chance to own a true classic. The original Cutlass, the Oldmobile F85 Cutlass Convertible. A rust free car originally from Alabama, now in a garage in Kansas. The only rust was in the gas tank which was professionally boiled and relined. Runs and Drives. Not show paint but newer paint job. You will not find a cleaner car around.
The F85 Cutlass has the "Rockette". The 215ci V-8 is all aluminum, with cast iron cylinder sleeves, so a great weight to H.P. ratio. In 1966 and 67 the same model was used in Formula 1. It was later picked up by Rover and used in Rovers into the mid 80's . A very popular engine with Triumph and MG owners because they could fit a V-8 in the British sports cars. If you want to hear and see it run check outhttps://vimeo.com/162457352/29da5c0bd8 The engine was rebuilt last year.
This is an original car for the most part, still has the original 13" wheels, and hub caps. Original engine, but a new Edelbrock 4bbl, with the original air cleaner. All the badges. All of the chrome, rocker panels haven't been put back on yet. Only missing trim is the front wheel wheel trim.
The top that was on the car was mostly not there, but a new top in the trunk ready to install. Too many projects to get it done yet. We did get the new hoses on the power lift. It has the original seats that have been reupholstered. Carpet is good. Only interior flaw is the storage are above the shifter is missing the lid.
This would be a fun car for the local show and goes, it turns heads for show. A unique car, and the first Cutlass, when they were trying to compete for the same class the Pontiac Lemans, Corvair, Buick Special, Pontiac Tempest, as they all used the same GM Y-Platform frame. They were all considered compact cars in 1961-63. This is one of only 12,149 produced.
This IS Your Father's Oldmobile, and you will love it as much as he did!
