Note: This is our last (free) listing . We don't pay for additional listings for cars.
1923 Star (Durant ) model Ctouring car.Basically asolid unrestored car that'snever been apart . It was resurrected in theearly 1950s withan "in andout and all around" paint job, new top and 4 new tires then and they are still on it.It has been runnow and again over theyears since and had been kept registered till 2014.It is running andin some what drivable condition but is due to havevarious repair, service andrestoration .as one chooses or is required Starts well in any weather. We did a valve grind with some nos valves shoved in. Motor runs pretty well with a clucky clucky cast iron piston wrist pin knock. No smoking,. Leaks oil in all the right placeslike all Durant cars,,, "If it isn't leaking, It needs filling"!. Radiator shows no repairs or leaks, It has not over heated .Original STAR motor meter worksCarb float needle is worn and can stick closed after sittinglong period, It has stuck open once an drained the carb. There is a shut off under the fuel vacuum tank..
Every thing works Lights, switches etc.,Brakes squeal form glazed lining..Not from worn to rivets .
Front axle king pin and tie-rod ends need rebushing. Carcan get into a shimmy over road ripples . .Accessory"Starlock"steering wheelis an unlock and spin free type. We have keys for it.
The carhas itsshare of little rattles and squeaks. Its has very good solid body wood !. Good overall body sheet metal with bumps and bruises and small kinks in the fenders, there is a small crack at the top crown outer edge of the right front fender edgeabove the brace screw. A fewminor ding bumps in the body metal, notworthto much of amention.Small rust spot in extreme lower left rear body corner curve where is meets the frame.Paint is scuffed and scratched., can shine up pretty good and havea nice old car look..The car is a bit dusty dirty in and out with grim in all theexpected best places.
Top restored wellin the 1950s. Top is soft and feels flexible....We have not let it down .
Wood wheels are very good, decent rims too. Running board wood is punky and looks to have been replaced once with old matt and trim reused.
With exception of front seat cove, interior upholstery is original & tired.
We drive it about regularly/weekly any temp. for simple errands as-is. but thecar needs plenty of TLCbut has has proven to have great possibilitiesto playaround withand fix up as you go with it's good old cosmetic patina. and best is nothing is missing,
We haveno title and it's not needed in Conn for25 years or older, Wehave last registration sighed to over us which is alegal bill of sale transfer in Connecticut whichyou geta copy it.We also havean additional plain bill of sale,You get a copy and a fresh Bill of Sale on Connecticut DMV paper from me to you.

We have been asked about and offered many trades but they were of no interestto us .Wecan consider partial trade-in of up to 30- 35% of value to u, balance in cash and your hauling to us.
Our interest for some traded in basket cas, rougher, lost interes, too much to handle for you ,to long term, bought cheap to flip and it flopped project car, would bepre 1930 onlylike the following common make, ,but not limited to those makes .Dodge Brothers , Maxwell 4, Hudson-Essex 4 or 6, Model T(open cars only)or Model A Ford (28-31)or AA truck no dumps.. Other 1920s era open touring car in some restorable shape. Slight interest in early cars cut down to trucks if itlooks like it wasthoughtfully done back in the day.
We don't mind some rust ou, light to mild over all surface rust, light pittin, but not crusty thi, pock pitted out and rotten beyond normal levels.Metal fatigue cracks and some lumps and bumps a crinkle or two in metal are O.K. No Field wrecks and pushed around the back 40 junk with a plow or bucket loader.
Mechanically complete as possible with nothing butchered up., no boat anchor frozen solid motors..Must have good wheels/ rims.. Interior gutted of fabric hopefully seat springs leftNo soft top ironsor hard top composite roof left, doesn't bother us much.
