1974 Triumph TR-6 Roadster Description
Triumph means:(Noun) Victory, success(verb) very happy; joyful Now add TR-6 roadster to it: (adjective) exhilarating! In your mind's eye, you see yourself looking fantastic in a pair of designer sunglasses, cruisingthru town or on a quiet country back roadin a classic pimento red TR-6 roadster convertible (with the top down of course!), catching the roaming eye of envious admirers as you drive by on a warm fall evening. A quick side glance in the rear view mirror catches their two thumbs up; your grin widens, fingers tighten their grip as you shift into another gear for a smooth acceleration. Sweet! So coming back into reality, here are the details of your car. ~ 64,500 original miles. ~ Overall, outstanding condition. Great mechanical and cosmetic condition due to years of tender care andprudent ownership as she was kept in the heated garage. Recently, she benefited a light comprehensive, professional cosmetic and mechanical "body on" restoration, including but not limited to an exterior paint finish, interior and suspension work by William Thomas Roadsters, located in Flemington, N.J. The body was refinished in the original eye catching Pimento Red complimented by the bright chrome accents. ~ All the chrome and bright work are in good condition with no major blemishes. The body is very straight, never welded or crash damaged and the undercarriage is very clean and great condition. The rocker panels do NOT have the typical rust issues and there weren't any needs for any "rust repairs" to the frame (please refer to the pictures for details). The paint finish, panel fit and closing gaps are exemplary. The car retains its original floor pans and other metals.. ~ Has its original 2.5 liter 6 cylinder, twin-Strombergcarburetorengine mated to its original close-ratio,all synchromesh 4-speed manual transmission in a package weighing under 2200 lbs. A new muffler completesthe package that delivers a sweet-revving, spirited performance while shifting seamlessly thru each gear. ~ The glass is clear of pitting, cracks or yellowing and windows operate as they should. ~ New tires are the correct period design. With standard rack and pinion steering, taught suspension, precision clutch operation, disc brakes up front for predictable braking and spirited acceleration makes for a comfortable and reliable ride. ~ The dashboard features correct and functional Smiths gauges. The compliment of instruments are set in an after-market wooden dashboard. The attractive wooden steering wheel completes the package. The wipers, lights and fan motor, all work as it should. ~ The rich black interior off sets the pimento red, making it an eye catcher. The bucket seats are original vinyl (in case you get caught in a sun shower with your top down), so they won't get ruined. The (near) new convertible top (exact replacement of the original) and a protective tonneau cover completes the look. ~ Car is registered in NJ as a "historic" vehicle and a 2 time car show award winner.
