1958 MG MGA Description

You are bidding on a real barn find MGA auto cross racer. Sold as is with original dust as shown. This car has the original 1500 engine and a MGA 1600 gearbox in it. The gears are the same ratio but the driveshaft bolts to the rear flange vs slipping into the case onto the mainshaft. The driveshaft is out as the past owner flat towed it to race, he said. Long story short this car was put away in 1986 and never used since then. It came to me as a car to get on the roa, from a buyer who had bigger ideas than his wallet. He's now driving a MGB that he got from me and used this as a trade. 3 owners ago painted it orange and used to auto cross race it, I was told. He added tube shocks onto the frame in the front by welding brackets onto the frame and lower control arm. Better handling. He also cut away a bit of the inner fender well. All repairabl, I feel. The engine is stuck / seize, I'm guessing from sitting. The front fenders are good as I see. The inner sills are rusting as well as the outer rockers. The dogleg, of the rear fender, are attached to the rockers. A typical repair / coverup of the day. They are soli, otherwise. The passenger's side inner frame is rotten from water sitting on the wood floors or a hugh mouse nest that was removed. It'll need to be sand blasted and repaired. The seats have been re uppolstered with 1 hole poked in the 1 seat bottom. Done in vinyl. It has an early MGA 1500 1 window top on it that is good. It has side curtains. The car is complete as I see. I'm selling the car as I have no room to keep it and restore it myself. This car might be fun to leave as is, rebuild the engine and hydrolics and go racing again or take apart and restore. Low starting price with NO RESERVE. NO BUY IT NOW.
